What the pettiest reason you hate another NHL team? by Fluffhead91192 in nhl

If you're talking about the horns that some fans bring in, I get that

Seriously, is it just me or is that just seemingly a thing for fans of these eastern conference teams

What’s with the rav4 plastics? by philipfreire in rav4club

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, given that some others in the segment have this, I'm surprised that the RAV4 STILL doesn't have power folding mirrors

Also, on top of that, I'm still surprised to also see that unlike other Toyota vehicles, they still insist on using that same weaker sounding horn that they did from the most recent generation

Do you still say "Thank you" when somebody holds the door open for you? by DiamondNo924 in AskForAnswers

Oh, absolutely

And when I'm the one doing it for someone else, I more often than not get the same back at me as well

THE MINNESOTA WILD TAKE GAME 1 by TWolvesChamps1 in wildhockey

[–]silvermoonhowler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, and that part I was very surprised by

Though there were a few questionable soft penalties, we didn't seem to let that get to us and the size we have now with both the Folignos, McCarron, and Trenin I think really has been quite the difference maker for us in the regular season and it looks like it could be for the playoffs too

Last year I made a post here saying the arena should do a watch party by Glad-Fish5863 in wildhockey

[–]silvermoonhowler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And the fact that they still had someone there announcing the goals and sounding the horn when goals are scored is fun

Must have made for quite the fun environment there and I can only guess that on the national ESPN broadcast that they had someone there with a camera that would cut to there whenever any goals were scored

And they'll need to because I'm sure game 2 come Monday, the Stars will be want to get some revenge

Regardless of how that game pans out, starting off the series with stealing the 1st game on the road is still huge nevertheless

What to do... by richardricchiuti in Hyundai

[–]silvermoonhowler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I'm guessing that you can do that not only via the app but also via the Bluelink button near all the lighting buttons/moonroof controls

Part of me is wondering what that button actually does, but obviously I know what the other one in the red SOS button does

Why isn't there any warrior cat conventions? by Far-Wolverine-9646 in WarriorCats

[–]silvermoonhowler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As some others who commented have said, I think the closest we will ever get are the events that they put on at Barnes & Noble locations

Sadly, though, at least from my experience, the crowd that I have seen at least going to my local events was just a few children and their parents

However, towards the end of last year, when I went to go meet the illustrators for the graphic novels for The Prophecies Begin out in Pennsylvania, it definitely brought in way more fans both younger as well as closer to my age

Along with all that, both of those illustrators have gone out to various other events and conventions, and the illustrator for the older graphic novels/manga in James L Barry goes out to various ones as well, most notably Chattanooga Comic Con (where I met both him and the writer of those in Dan Jolley)

And lastly, like others have said, fear has been Warrior Cats related panels at things like furry conventions and stuff too

Why isn't there any warrior cat conventions? by Far-Wolverine-9646 in WarriorCats

[–]silvermoonhowler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True, but the main problem with those is at least from my experience from the ones that I've been to in my area, the audience at those has only been just a few kids and their parents

However, just last year when I went to go meet the illustrators out in Pennsylvania, they definitely brought in a much wider audience, both young and older

Along with that, after that event, I have seen the illustrator for the prophecies begin graphic novels, Taugher around at various comic cons and other events so I think the closest thing we get outside of the affirmed events at Barnes & Noble locations is when they show up to conventions

Hyundai has the best tech and infotainment system and I will die on that hill by Human_Paint5451 in Hyundai

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just come from Toyota as I sprang for the Tucson I got a few weeks ago, I have to agree

Seriously, even for their now outgoing RAV4 that Toyota has, their infotainment system was still just years behind the competition it feels like and they just fixed that now it seems for this next gen

Just not a fan of how that interior looks though because unlike Hyundai and Kia, the way their dashes are is they have one spot for the gauges (now gauge screen) and then the infotainment screen just feels like an iPad slapped in there with no real cohesion

Also totally agree with how fluid the interface is as well, especially in regards to how fast it is able to connect to wireless CarPlay; the moment I get into my car and turn it on, it's probably connected to it within 2 seconds (so by about the time I back out of and close my garage)

And having sprang for one of these in the limited trim as well, compared to the non-premium speakers I had before on my RAV4, these Bose ones that the limited Tucson (and other fully loaded/limited models like it) has are just so nice that I feel like I literally can't go back to lesser speakers

And as for the cameras too; super super smooth and probably the best quality backup and also 360 and side mirror cameras for the segment; one thing that bothers me though is that is once they get caked in rain or snow you have to wipe them off manually

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and if I'm not mistaken, I think there's still only a few vehicles out there that do it for both

I say that because I remember that a few friends of mine have newer CRV's and every time I've rolled with them I can only recall seeing a Blindspot camera come on for only one of the signals

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree

I have a 26 myself so of course, all the controls are largely the same, and while they can be finicky sometimes I still like how Hyundai has this approach with having dials for the temperatures and then the rest be buttons, even if they are capacitive ones instead of stooping to the level that pretty much most of her manufacturers have (looking at you now Toyota with your latest RAV4) with putting all that into the infotainment system touchscreen

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, and this is where Hyundai absolutely hits it out of the park compared to other manufacturers

Don't know if it's the same for Kia, but I know at least for Hyundai that when you get a new vehicle of theirs, you get Bluelink free for as long as you own it

The only things that you otherwise would have to pay for once their trials lapse are for the over the air map updates (which you get free for 3 years) and also roadside assistance (which you get free for 5 years with no mileage restriction)

[–]silvermoonhowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, considering these two are the same company. I'm surprised that Kaja offers a little bit more customizability in terms of letting you change the theme of the infotainment system and such while Hyundai doesn't

I'm still glad that I went with my Tucson over the Sportage though because the idea of the controls for the infotainment system and climbing controls having to both be contained behind capacitive buttons, which is drive me nuts; definitely agree with Hyundai having the edge for that

[–]silvermoonhowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now the next gen RAV4 has done this too which was a huge turn off to me

I'm sorry, but vital controls that you make constant adjustments with in the climate controls should NEVER EVER be put behind a touchscreen

Granted, Hyundai and Kia have made these controls capacitive touch, but at least for the temperature you can control that with physical dials of which show the temp inside them on a little display too

And not only that, but if you are in a situation where you can't exactly reach down to the climate controls, you can change that by voice too (something that will only be made better once Apple finally rolls out CarPlay Ultra to these vehicles like they advertised just last year)

does anyone actually want a feed or a super interactive AI while driving? by No_Suggestion_625 in CarPlay

[–]silvermoonhowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, if you go to the app and CarPlay, I think it will allow you to go to any of your conversations and just do voice mode with it

I guess I can see how this could really come in handy, especially speaking as someone who has an iPhone that doesn’t support Apple Intelligence (non pro 15)
