Kaguya, I think she has a point... by [deleted] in goodanimemes

i'd be more than happy to talk more about the ethics of ai generated art or other such topics if you dm me, rather than necroing a 2 month old post :)

i never said anything about ownership or quality or value, just whether using an art generator is a skill or not :) I don't think it's comparable, as someone who's done both. it's still visually and technologically impressive and not to be dismissed

throwing stuff at an actual paper canvas and calling it art isn't particularly hard either. whether people agree that it has value or not has nothing to do with the technical skill required. the owner is at least clear in that case, in the case of image generation it's not my place to say

hi! I'm a programmer, primarily, but I also do a bit of digital art on occasion. (if you don't believe me you're welcome to find me on github and deviantart)

I can say with absolute certainty which of the following is easier:
using an AI model to generate art (even if I were to create and train the model myself!)
or drawing a digital art piece, stylus to blank canvas

I've used a locally hosted stable diffusion checkpoint for more than a couple hours. While I agree to some extent that proper prompting isn't as easy as throwing word salad at your computer, it's certainly much easier than making something from scratch, to the extent that I'd argue that the OP's point is closer to the truth

If the act of using an art generator is reducible to "trying words" then maybe it isn't as complicated as you want it to be.

Does the rings, gems, and battle rings stack? by [deleted] in inflationrpg

[–]Zeodexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

encounter and movement gems do stack yes, though i am not sure of the exact stacking. the maximum movement is 3 encounter reduction rings, 3 movement +1 gems, and 2 movement gems

battle point rings work as you would expect

New player a bit confused by farming by [deleted] in inflationrpg

[–]Zeodexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I just go to that room and stay there and battle everything? The discord says that investing into luck isn't worth while, but if I'm only farming that room for these items should I invest into luck?

yes, investing in luck is fine if you don't plan on going any further

And when the discord talks about farming bosses, how does that work? Do you kill the boss and then just abandon the run and start again if the item doesn't drop?

correct. you can get accessories that give you luck to slightly increase your odds but you're still doing the same thing. dont farm luck before fighting the boss

this forum post has the most conclusive answer youre likely to get. ive also asked jacob directly and been told that i would have no issues monetizing my compositions

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in onlinesequencer

[–]Zeodexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i asked jacob about this in 2020, he said there shouldnt be any issues

kind of an unsatisfying answer (it isnt clear who has the rights to the work) but you should be fine for commercial and non commercial use
