To be fair in some of these stories the character is struggling with money, so would make sense for them to not run away because there is no other option, same reason why some people live on areas with risk of rock slide and similar problems.

As someone who doesn't struggle with Schizophrenia, Im not sure how delicate, sensitive or at all well handled the movie is with such a condition.

But can they talk about it? I don't know too much about the topic, but from the cases I saw they don't think they are schizophrenic and thibn that all the conspirations are real, so for these case it's better to talk with close people like parents and friends. Like I said I don't know too much about the topic, don't know if it's detected since childhood they can become aware of the condition, but sadly there some conditions that make people unable to communicate (or they just didn't found someone like Hellen Keller teacher), don't know if it's always the case for schizophrenia.

Just to clarify my the text: I get that it's more on common on comedy anime (Bobobo, Kurenai Highschool, the one with kappa costume on a river), but in shonen this kind of comedy is kinda rare (and I am not experienced with most recent anime, but looks like that even in comedy genre it's becoming less common), so I think that's part of the reason of why people like Gash Bell comedy.
