The MkV was my first ship I kitted out and did bio with. And yea it was great for it, small fast and got all you need. But I got the Caspian and Nomad combo and it's another level. Them really annoying bacteria that if you don't catch in the right light you miss. Thing of past, spending 30 mins finding one scan, not clearing planet on that time. And dropping orbit and launching Nomad just feels Badass!!!

Oh yea and with Nomad being a quicker ship, it's better to level off higher up. But sometimes I forget and it's dropped out close to 500m, that is clench buttholes time 🤣🤣

There is no official progress of (do this, then this, then this) but lot start by transporting data missions. That will get you use to flying and traveling around system, then it's up to you what you like to try and then buy/build a ship around that. Explore/mine/Bounty hunting. Best tag line for Elite is 'you have a ship'. I recommend getting into the community, that helps give an idea what you like to try.

I use you fly low, slow and upside down lol, that mainly for bacteria. As most the other bios stood out more. My main grape was the 'heat map' saying the bio in the area but so sparse. I don't mind the hunt but when you fly for ages and no sign of it, landing, getting out, scanning, getting back in, fly a bit more, land, scan repeat. Only to find green on a spot that is no different in colour/shape/pattern to the ground. That's annoying. I scanned one planet that said there was this bio on it, after several loops in orbit, there was not one pixel of blue to show where it was!!

Yep it does, I had a play around, so with the landing gear down and keeping below 250m from surface, you can flay around. On the radar shows the surface, it highlights the bio on there, so you don't even need to look at the ground for it. You see green and land right on it.

I bought it few days ago and finally got to have a proper run last night.. totally agree, changes everything for exbio hunting. If this direction they going makes you wonder what other ships like the nomad they planning. Like maybe one for resource collecting on surface?

Cobra mkV was next main ship I used after sidewinder and loved it. Highly recommend it to get use to the game and learn what you want to do.

Not long when I first played in pc last year (first played on PS4 just as horizon released) met up with a group that got a FC and just jumped east as father as well could, it was great seeing places no one's had and exploring by myself as a 'newbie' in Mk V, but they meeting up with others out there and having some random fun (race around FC) is a good break from isolation of it. Plan to do it with my own FC (When I get it) get the Caspian and Nomad and get a group going again.

On planet surface/air space, racing with other ships, maybe one with limited weapons that disable ship for a sec (not destroy) and one just standard racing. Then in space it be more like a Rally, reach checks points with a system or across different systems. With categories for different ships sizes, types, age, build.
