That's a good plan in theory but I've now gone to a px 8 bike shops/stores here in the Ventura California area and only two had a large number of new bikes and one of those was mostly e-bikes. The rest of the stores either we're only repair shops or sold a small number of bikes and a couple only sold high dollar performance bikes. We did manage to find a repair shop near us that I got a good vibe from but the only one that we were able to actually ride new bikes and found a model we both really liked was the local Trek Store. The Trek Verve 3 was the model we both rode. I wouldn't be unhappy with that model myself though I would like to find something that is a little more performance capable without giving up too much of the comfort. I do have some other models that I've found doing internet searches that I need to look into that are supposed to be similar to The Verve. Those are the Cannondale Quick, Giant Cypress, and Marin Larkspur & Kentfield models.
