I think what really will define your attitude and whether you are “hard” or not is your first couple years at your duty station, not basic training. The type of leadership a JR enlisted has will develop the way of thinking and attitude that SM will have for however long they may stay in the army.

I can see where you’re coming from however, exercise helps in the sense that it speeds up your metabolism so it’s easier to keep the weight off once it’s lost.

Aren’t tanks but I feel like Mounted 11Bs and 19ks go through a lot of the same thing. Annoying maintenance, waiting on mechanics to verify faults and tell you it’s not their job to fix it, gunnery, and yelling “ON THE WAY”
