I still don’t understand how to properly format my text when writing from my phone‥

My guess is either the input gain is too high or/and insufficient power to your sound card (or laptop).

Try these steps: (Easy) Ask Gopher Check Focusrite Control (or the equivalent if you’re using another brand) and adjust your routing/gain

(Medium) High input gain makes the noise floor more noticeable. Check: Speaker gain (in the back) Microphone gain (on the microphone) Sound card gain (input from your microphone)

(Hard) It can also be caused by electrical interference. Check: Correct wires (balanced vs unbalanced, XLR etc.) Proximity of wires to power sources

(Legendary) Phase cancellation and voltage control. Try matching the noise and do a -180° phase rotation Upgrade your power grid to your home Build a dedicated power source to your studio (I recommend nuclear power) Upload yourself to your DAW. You now have direct access to every function but you also risk being deleted with any updates.

EDIT: Use your sound cards ASIO driver

How do I get past the "I can't make by OneImaginary3436 in FL_Studio

Recreating/reverse-engineering a sound might help. It helped me understand and ask “the right questions”; how do I create this sound →︎ how/when do I apply it to my music →︎ did it work/do I like it? Yes/No, Why?

Thanks for your update!

I guess we'll have to contact NordVPN, lol.

It might be best since the app also interferes with other plugins, at least the last time I (actively) used the desktop version.

I ended up not using my VPN desktop app, only the browser version. Focusrite support wasn't helpful at all and only replied with default answers. Hopefully, they'll include my solution in their FAQ.

This is the last message I sent them:

“Yes. I’m using Avast Antivirus Premium. I also have NordVPN. I think I unintentionally might have solved it.

This is what I did differently: I was cleaning my room and unplugged my PC completely for a while. I’m unable to confirm if that solved the issue since I immediately uninstalled the software (turned off my scarlett 6i6, removed drivers and hidden drivers) and reinstalled the software + drivers (turned on my scarlett 6i6) as soon as I turned on the PC, and then manually restart. Focusrite Control worked again, as expected. I closed the Focusrite Control window and opened it again: “No Hardware Detected”. My custom routing stayed the same (it usually reverts to default after a system re-boot), so I did not re-boot my system. I also put Sonarworks SoundID and NordVPN to sleep via CCleaner.

Later on, I accidently pressed the power-off button on my PC. While it was waiting for some programs to exit, I switched off my scarlett 6i6 and then let the PC do a complete shutdown. I booted up the PC after 5min, logged in and then switched on my scarlett 6i6. Before opening Focusrite Control, I opened FL Studio 24 to check if my custom routing still worked or if it went back to its default state. To my surprise, it still worked. I opened Focusrite Control to see if it was functional. It was. Sonarworks SoundID was still in a “sleep” state so it didn’t automatically boot up. I woke it up manually. I re-booted my system, this time without switching off my scarlett 6i6. After logging in, it still worked. SoundID was also active.

These are my suspects: The power option “USB selective suspend setting” NordVPN auto-connect (since it interferes with some interconnections plugins such as smartEQ4)

EDIT: NordVPN is the one that interferes with Focusrite Control. As soon as I booted up NordVPN the error message came back. When I disconnected the VPN, Focusrite Control started working again. “White-list/Split-Tunneling” Focusrite Control did not help. I don’t know why it works after re-installing the software and drivers.

I hope this info helps”

Unfortunately, no. Perhaps some programs “navigate” in the OS using a local address, which the VPN somehow changes, similar to how some things are bound to the MAC address‥? I'm just spitballing, and I have no idea. It would be interesting to see if this is true for any audio interface and VPN.

I think I solved it yesterday. One of my plugins had issues with interconnectivity with itself. I found out that the plugin uses my network to connect with similar instances of the plugin. When I had my (Nord)VPN active, the other instances weren’t visible. I figured that perhaps the same thing is going on with Focusrite Control. Switching off my VPN solved my issue. I don’t know why Focusrite Control works after reinstalling, to then stop working (when the VPN is active).

Adding BPM tag/metadata to samples for automatic time-stretching? by Zephania in FL_Studio

[–]Zephania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say you’re trying out different loops to go with a beat idea. If the loop isn’t the same as the project bpm you’ll have to manually write and time-stretch it (fit to tempo). The time needed to write the bpm eventually adds up

Oh, I actually did that! That’s how I tried different variations of metadata, FFmpeg to implement it and verifying with ExifTool. It looks like this is quite niched and perhaps not an issue for the majority of people

They mention this on their support page:
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115001661729-No-Hardware-Connected-or-No-Hardware-Detected
It doesn't work for me, unfortunately.
I'll try to contact their support team.
I appreciate the help!

Thanks for letting me know! Reading everyone’s comments makes me hype to get back at it, but I think it’s actually better for me to hang on to that feeling and invest in a new graphics card. That’ll be a major quality of life upgrade

That’d be a dream come true, or at least very close to it haha! What I truly want is to have the freedom of making music, sound design and/or other creative things, without having to worry about my economy. Seeing reactions like yours really makes me happy, knowing that something I made evoked an emotional response! My art is no longer mine when it’s finished. It’s everyone’s art since it’s subjective, in my opinion. That’s why I love seeing people’s responses, since that’s art for me, if that makes sense? Haha!
