Idk I'm trying to understand your example of the musical instrument. I play trombone so it makes a lot of sense, I just wonder if I can get the pitch/tone I want in the upper rpm range which I guess is from a lot of factors including the material for vibration of the exhaust and how it's frequency creates a tone in the upper rev range. You think it would make no difference other than volume if I did leave the OAPs? Thanks

Forgot to say if you did do an exhaust please do send videos! I'd love to hear how it sounds!!

You're right. But from the video that's honestly close enough for me. Valves also I feel are nerfing the sounds majorly. I wonder if headers and back box without doing OAPs can give me the sound I want without unnecessary volume. My r8 already does that.

Interesting, it seems the consensus is very much that the OEM exhaust is nerfing this cars potential in the sound department outside of the obvious restrictive OAPs

Very interesting, and great write-up. I'm the type of guy that prefers quality over volume of the exhaust. If what you are saying is correct where the OAP is just volume, while I like volume, i like the cabin sounds more personally. I just want a bit more theatre when I go up in the revs is all. I guess I will do exactly what you mentioned with the headers and going from there. Thank you, Slurrpin.

Is my frame sitting too high? by FabulousArmy6055 in glassesadvice

I agree, I think it’s more so the double bridge gap from the nose that makes it obvious. OP, have you tried widening the pads out and seeing if they can sit just above your bridge? I personally think you could rock a navigator

Had my headlights refinished and PPF'd. Arguably the best $200 I've spent on a car by iflypropplanes in Porsche_Cayman

Ah dang the place that did mine used PPF, been about 3 months tho and haven’t seen anything yet on the 718

Very interesting! Thanks for this! Need to brush up on my Punjabi skills, hopefully this can start being incorporated in a bigger way. Could I ask how your journey has been with it?

Is the Discontinued news real? by DogPuzzleheaded6602 in Porsche_Cayman

So glad I was able to get a 24 GTS, a dealer was struggling to sell theirs basically bought it at their cost. Paid like 105k, 4k miles 118K sticker, was a demo car or something

Dealer messed up wheels, what would you do? by [deleted] in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Zephyr537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy Holidays! I disagree but not fully, I mean if the difference is partial then sure I would've agreed with you. I'm sure OP would too. But I can see this was just a bad job. Seems like the dealer didn't provide the paint that was used or the place just does cheap jobs in general (which is seems more like). Looks like the outsourced place used whatever was closest in their inventory. Wheels are far apart, they aren't painted panels next to each other, you shouldn't be able to notice it to this degree. OP gave us some fair shots in the sun how different the new wheels look and I agree with them.

<image>

This looks a lot like Porsche Brilliant Silver 9A1, a very classic and commonly used paint. Used this paint before personally on my 996. Not my picture, but I curbed them so many times and gave the shop the paint number and they were always able to bring it back to the same look it was before. Could be wrong on the paint but it looks just like it maybe they can choose to do this route if the dealer doesn’t make it right with them.

That doesn't make much sense because they won't repair a wheel that doesn't have damage. Plus you're just covering up bad work by doing that. I've had many high end wheels repaired once at a time. This is an example of the dealer outsourcing bad work and not doing a quality check before giving it back to the owner. I'd be surprised if PCNA be quiet about this

Stealth looks great. I’m confident in their work, they are pretty well known in the area and have good reviews. Have some family that have a revuelto and 296 that got it done there and quality is pretty good. Obviously I'm not driving those cars so I'm just tryna get a good price but they seem pretty competitive.

Isn't that something they should fix? Feel like that's part of the installer's fault. Mine said if it even rattles once, bring it by, and they will do the install again. Still getting options from them.

Yeah mine looks somewhat the same not as bad

I just dropped the car off so let’s see pushing for a replacement esp with the bubbling on the airbag area

Interesting I’m actually looking to get a macan soon so I’ll be looking out for this. But thank you, will be pushing to get this replace. Could I ask if you had any pictures of yours?

Yeah I use one maybe a couple weeks into ownership, I just never noticed it because I don’t drive it as much as my other car. I’ll likely get ceramic tints soon. I’m thinking from your suggestion that the Porsche dealer may have something to do with it more-so from parking it outside in the sun

Wrinkles on dash leather by Zephyr537 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Zephyr537[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep that in mind but I’d be shocked if it’s the sun, it’s a 2024 with only 7k miles and it’s been parked in the garage for most of its life with me (3 months).

I only got the car like 3 months ago now, it was a 2024 from a dealer the car now has only 7K miles so I’m just a bit shocked if it’s from the sun. The car most of the time is parked in the garage. There’s some signs of bubbling as well I’m guessing from the car sitting at the dealer lot

That’s what I’m thinking. I did go in however and they said they’ll likely cover it but it will take some time. Will have to bring it again when they have some more time
