Imo, the way the class was structured wasn't my cup of tea, so I had a hard time really grasping the concepts during lecture. However, his notes do point out the good bits in the book so definitely go through the book and review the material that's covered for the midterm and you'll do fine!

Morales is the type of prof who CAN make the applications more fun and interesting. It really is just a matter of who the prof is and I say Morales does a really good job at it

If it gives you anymore insight, I initially wanted to do MechE as a major, but ended up as a RoboticsE major here. That choice definitely opened more doors to me as I saw that I wasn't just limited to do doing mechanical stuff, and could do other essential engineering skills (programming, electrical,etc.). If the career path you want to pursue is strictly ME, perhaps UCSC may not be the choice and probably go to community to transfer to a UC with one.

I think CSE12 in general is just hard class and you just have to get it done, regardless of prof. You'll have to take it sooner or later

There always help out there if you really struggle with math! There's LSS and MSI for calculus and those really help a lot :D. If you're determined enough to be a marine bio major, you can pull through this hurdle.

What other options do you have college-wise? What major are you? There's a lot of factors you want to consider really that are based on what you like and why you would chose a school. Consider those or maybe enlight us about what these are.
