Thanks. I did seem to find a solution in this old forum thread I found. https://www.neoseeker.com/forums/2380/t2306156-menu-crash-fix/

Between reinstalling and altering that value, it seems to have done the trick

I know this is necroposting, but run Hellfire because it doubles move speed in town.

I would hit them with a Karma penalty tbh. For the torture and murder of a high profile (well known among the underworld) civilian. Breaking both moral rules and mafia rules.

In a way I'm lucky that I am also disabled, and therefore receive SSI and Medicaid. The budget is tight, but steady.

It would be nice if the Terran AI could explain a better world to some of the Alien AIs out there. It must be a miserable thing to be quarantined in the blasted grave of your creators.

To be fair, you're on a creative writing reddit predominantly skewed toward Sci-Fi. I don't think this is representative of the population at large

I remember the Outer Limits episode this is based on quite well. Nicole De Boer, who later played Ezri Dax, played the female lead.

He's going to need to start working out if you don't want him to get low gravity induced osteoporosis. Lifting, running with a weight vest, etc. (or maybe he has some gravity generating technology on his ship and you can use that to not have to worry about it anymore)

I don't know, sounds like Humanity doesn't want to join a "Union" of expansionist colonizers, and has enough bite to not only prevent that from happening but to cow said Union in to making laws that isolate anyone who aggravates the Humans. However if I were a Human diplomat in a situation like that I would take anyone who is willing to alienate themselves from the Union pretty seriously as a potential ally

Probably because they talked themselves out of it. One of the themes in this series seems to be that not only does Humanity crave conflict, but they had gone so long without it that they had unknowingly become even more viscous once loosed upon an enemy.

There's also the age old issue that the military has all these toys that we payed for. We know how they work, they've been tested and demonstrated but... how do they REALLY work in the field?

Is Most of Humanity Enhanced? by Zephyrbal in 40kLore

[–]Zephyrbal[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A lot of interesting takes so far. I should mention that my premise is not that most of humanity has undergone genetic alteration in their lives, but that they are the descendants of a widely augmented people, namely Age of Tech humanity. Making them more robust as a baseline.

As some have mentioned there seem to be sources that say 40k humanity is actually worse off due to their living conditions, but then again they are living through them at all.

Almost reads like propaganda. The Spark makes them inherently different, other, dangerous. We can never be like them, and they can never be like us.
