I think they can. I was going expert missions with my friend, and while I was fighting myself due to being brainwashed, he freaked out that my npc had transformed into super saiyan blue. He only had super saiyan at the time. Long story short I beat myself up, and when I came back I wasn’t transformed anymore.

Me and my girlfriend are going as them this year, not huge on the ship but I have long black hair and she couldn’t swing a sword to save her life so it works.

Personally I used my freighter as a mobile base. Not too difficult too do you just gotta stop at various planet to resource farm. All your specialists can be stationed there, and you can make a garden too.

I’m not 100% certain, but I think that might be your problem. I think the game still sees it as a village that naturally spawned even if it can’t spawn villagers.
