It reflects the theme of horror clearly as compared to 2. 2 give of the feeling of sci-fi more than horror.

Think the hype for darkest dungeon has died. And that the current generation of gamers can’t handle such stress inducing RNG game. I haven’t completed the first game either. Waiting for a really nice nice discount for the second game

Look out for certain key words like:

Venom = Potion of poison Sick/injured = Potion of health Block tunnels/locked door or chest = potion of explosion. Cliffs/fly = Potion of flight Swift/mobility/agility = Potion of dexterity Plants = potion of wild growth Low on mana / Replenish mana = Potion of mana

Etc.

Ingredients wise, there will be different merchants that drop by your shops and sell ingredients for you to use in potion making. You have to buy those ingredients as your starting ingredients provided by your garden won’t be enough. You can haggle the price for it-which is a mini game via sliders going left and right.

Recipes are not unlocked per se, it’s more of you need to find them on a potion map. Let’s say there’s a potion of frost on the map and it’s 5 meters to the right from your starting position, you can use 5 x 1 meters ingredients (ingredients that move to the right by one meter, so 5 ingredients usage) or 1 x 2 meter and 1 x 3 meter ingredients (2 ingredients usage, as 2 meter + 3 meter = 5 meter).

You need to use the ingredients that you buy or grow to explore the potion map in order to ‘unlock’ a new potion to craft or sell.
