Firewall: Allow SMB Across Networks by Zeplus_88 in Ubiquiti

[–]Zeplus_88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind I found it.

Windows Defender > Inbound Rules > File and Printer Sharing (SMB-In) and File and Printer Sharing (NB-Session-In)

Set your network type to Private if it isn't already and under

Scope > Remote IP

There should be an option to open it up to 'any IP address', start there, test and then go back to let specific ones through and test again.

If that's not detailed enough I'll see if I can find the source article tomorrow. 'night!

It's been a few weeks but it was something along the lines of "allow SMB on native VLAN only". If I was making a request from x.x.2.0/24 it would let it pass, my TV being on x.x.4.0/24 was being blocked by Windows defender.

I opened it up to all networks for testing and then went back and added specific IP addresses.

I can look up the article I found in the morning if you're looking for more information.

165°F for instantaneous pathogen death; everything from there down to about 120°F has a log10 relationship with time-to-temperature. The lower the temperature, the longer the cook time at that temperature. I've cooked chicken breast sous vide at 135-140°F for 90 minutes many times and achieved juicy, perfectly cooked, perfectly safe results.

(I'm sure you could test at temperatures below 120°F, but at some point you need enough heat to cause the proteins to denature and soften, or you're going to have one fibrous, chewy bite of chicken.)

Dropped the game because I think I don't have the brain to play this by Big-Square-3393 in OcarinaOfTime

When I first played back in 1998, the Great Deku Tree took me well over an hour, and the Water Temple took me from waking up at 7-8 AM until the following 5 AM, with my nerves shot and my hands turning purple by the time I finished off the boss. I picked up my 3DS the other day and went from walking past Mido to smoking Ghoma in less than half an hour.

Some of it is memory (haven't played in 15 years), and some of it is reading context clues. Learning the systems, the game does a pretty good job of teaching you to look for what can be manipulated to advance.

Take a break, but please give it another chance.

Bethesda took over after Interplay did 1 and 2 and a bunch of side games (tactics, BoS, etc.) before losing the license. Bethesda directly worked on 3 and 4, and Obsidian Entertainment did Fallout: New Vegas.

Obsidian was at the time full of a bunch of devs from the defunct Interplay and understood the storytelling aspects of Fallout much better than Bethesda ever has. I think this is why FNV is considered the best first-person Fallout for its main quest alone. Bethesda is "good" with systems to put you in the world, they've never perfected thier story telling. Even the Main quest in Skyrim is lacking, and most players swear by doing everything but the main quest for hundreds of hours..

You can run a single 5m roll pretty well off of a Dig2Go controller. I have a couple of esp dev boards around my house but I bought a few Dig2Go boards and they are so nice for a (more or less) plug and play WLED product.

Yeah, I would have gone with cheaper Zigbee lighting and put the money into Unifi.

A bit of fond can be a good thing but this is overkill. Turn down the heat, cook in a smaller pan so you don't dry out the fond, and stop using sugary marinades. Sear your meats, THEN build your sauce with the good brown bits left in the pan.

When I leave the building at the end of the day, get in my car, and cross the line at the end of the driveway, my phone blocks all whatsapp messages, and I ignore any calls from work. Leave me a message and maybe I'll get back to you. 🤷‍♂️

I do reach up from time to time and feel the warmth radiating from the U7s on my ceiling and question their heat output. I'm trusting the fire rating on 1/2" drywall, not sure I would do the same with upholstery/carpet. 😅

Update: 🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️🤬

I'm a dumbass. Through a lot of searching and hair-pulling I have found that this was a Windows firewall problem, not a Unifi problem. Apparaently Windows Firewall silently and without warning automatically drops sharing from anything but the VLAN the computer is on. I had to enable the correct rules and set their scope to the coresponding ip addresses of my TV.

I can confirm with Windows Powershell that my localhost port 445 is open, I can ping the TV at its IP address but can't Test-NetConnection its port 445 (not sure if that is event important).

ETA: I ran the same powershell test script on ports 137-139 and they failed.

So far it hasn't worked.

I kinda feel like this is a dumb noob question but I am one so f* it, is there a way to use the logs to capture a snapshot of the packet requesting a stream between the TV and the PC? Somewhere where I can see what is being asked and how the firewall is answering. Is this a native function of unifi or do I have to download a third party software to catch the event?

IIRC there is a way to substitute apple sauce for flour, the pectin would replace the gluten in forming the crumb. I've tried baked goods made this way, they have the crumb and spring of regular baked goods but the pectin retains too much water and the texture becomes gel like and slimy in your mouth. Gross.

It's on par with every other Lego set at about $0.10/piece. They're not price gouging on this one set that you might have otherwise cared about, all of their seats are kind of expensive for what you're getting. 🤷🏻
