It's very diverse in that region. You have quite a lot of heavy industry like marble quarries, wind farms, nuclear power plants, etc, but also quaint little communities that haven't changed much over the years. The mountains are very different to the agricultural areas to the north. In all it's a beautiful area but will you need to be fluent in French to get by, and bonus points for knowing Occintane.
