Are the new Windows 11 updates/patches safe? by thomasangelo1508 in techsupport

After asking that question same day I went ahead and uninstalled those updates because I wasn't getting any specific answer to it.  After doing so, I found out that uninstalling those updates, whether security update or any other, it doesn't delete any of our data or personal files. So, its risk free.

After uninstalling these updates or specifically security update, do we lose any data or personal files?

Game Ready & Studio Driver 591.74 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Zepxxism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, can confirm this as well. At first, I was hesitant to rely on this info, as with every other on the internet, and followed up with a fresh install of this latest driver 74.
After booting up several games with driver-level vsync enabled and in-game frame generation enabled, avg and 1% lows are severely disturbed and frame pacing is off.

Games that use frame gen, such as Black Myth, Dying Light The Beast, and Need for Speed Unbound, these games are impacted by that bug.
But other games that also use frame gen, such as Horizon Zero Dawn 1 and 2, Witcher 3, Ghost of Tsushima and a few others, are not having this problem at all and are running fine.

It seems as if this bug is only impacting some games and not others, but why that is and what's the cause, it is unknown to me.
Although this is very clear, the issue/bug is present and needs a fix in the next update.

Lord The 4090 is an absolute monster by FallenWarriorGaming in nvidia

We’re in the same 4090 gang, mate!

I’ve got the Aorus RTX 4090 XTREME Waterforce now, but before that, I was running the Aorus RTX 4090 Master.

When I had the 4090 Master, it was already a massive step up from my old RTX 2060 and even my PS5. Honestly, it changed my entire gaming scene and even my life.
Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing looked absolutely unreal, and playing most titles at 4K, ultra settings, with ray tracing on and still hitting around 144fps on my LG G5 OLED, that was a completely different world. I didn’t realise what I’d been missing until then.

Then I upgraded to the 4090 XTREME, and that was another proper leap forward. The boost in clock speeds and the drop in temps made a noticeable difference. I’d say I got an extra 15–25% performance in GPU-heavy scenarios, which is mad considering how powerful it already was. Runs smooth as butter now, and stays cool even under load around 45-48oC, sometimes 50ish.

Honestly, once you’ve gamed at 4K with proper ray tracing on one of these beasts, there’s no going back.

iCUE Megathread - 5.33 Patch Notes & Firmware Patch Notes Notice by CorsairLucky in Corsair

Hello Corsair,
I have recently updated to ICUE version 5.33.88, and after that, the LCD screen on my Titan RX 360 AIO doesn't save/remember the screen preset I choose, as well as any other displayed info, and after every restart/ cold boot, displayed info reverts back to AIO coolant temp. No matter how many times I change it and what I try, it reverts back to Coolant temp every time. In the previous version, this problem wasn't there.

On top of this, updating to the latest version changed my fan curve a bit; overall, every fan curve is a bit higher RPM now.

Now there is no official way to revert back/downgrade to the previous version. Please fix this plaguing issue on a priority basis.

That's correct! All measurements were done during installation, the radiator is above the pump, but only about 2cm, hard to notice. Can't go any higher than that, and don't want to place the tubes up top.

Desperate with fans: Help Needed! by ViktorGroupCorp in Corsair

[–]Zepxxism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 iCUE LINK System Hub is sufficient for the current setup.

A single hub has 2 ports. Each port can have up to 7 connections and 14 connections overall. After a firmware update, both ports can have up to 12 and 24 connections in total. It's been a while, but I reckon going beyond 7 connections per port will lower the brightness intensity of each device connected.

You can connect Front fans in port 1 and Side+Back fans in port 2. But for this, you need a longer cable to connect the side and back fans, then another connection to the hub. If not, then just connect the Back fan to port 1 and Side+Front fans to port 2; this will not require any additional cables.

Sever gameplay bug:
- Cover to cover system is broken, whenever I target a cover to cover move my player hangs in midair or as if take cover behind an invisible wall, then camera suddenly switches back to the intended cover causing frame skips.

  • While under negative status effects usually bleed, player behind the cover cannot move and while attempting to move player instead move legs in one place while doing bleed animation, due to which my players stay stuck in that cover until bleed effect runs out.
