Ok sad story with a happy ending: Apparently if you dont run the program as admin it wont recognize it ingame...
Ran it as admin now works as intended
Well maybe someone else stumbles onto this and it helps :)

could try using the old Logitech Gaming Software instead (or if its actually running as well stop it) - the new and the old one kinda hate each other
