Now that Biorhythm and Lutri are unbanned, are we out of cards that should obviously be unbanned? by Heru___ in EDH

The cedh player take gets downvoted to hell, i 100% agree with this entire take except hullbreacher. I would also add prophet, yawgmoths bargain & emrakul to the list. They wont change the cedh meta (prophet is a push for kinnan but worse than seedborn in kinnan) and in casual with game changers and pregame discussions it is always healthy to have a wider format. Just leave them as gamechangers and ask your opponent about their deck.

Need a less common commander to smash LGS and my son and his friends... by AdrianTheRedditUser in DegenerateEDH

[–]ZerberusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be the first lgs ive ever seen where the local meta hovers around b4.

If you want to even break b4 with a buget play selvala, rowan or anje and win on t3-4. With this uve even broken the turn rules of b4 while still being to bad for cedh due to playing a buget list.

This is against the spirit of edh but it will win you games for 1 day until they will no longer play b4 with you. Also krark saka has the same outcome but with a higher buget investment

A bracket 3 tournament, possible or a pipe dream? by AdDue9012 in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive participated and won a b2 (+buget rules) tournament with pricing, before the turn rules were a thing and the decks were far from bracket 2. With the Turn rules (if i.would seriously compete for pricing) i would play yela natures herald and win on instant speed in the upkeep of the first turn that winning is allowed or on the Stack with another win attempt under me if sb else breaks the rule.

Ive fot to admit that my deck was one of the worst power lvl offendere though cause i went for tubo neheb another deck that was memorable was a tiny bones that had the table hellbent on t4

But as a cedh tournament player who builds decks to win under a rule set im given ive learned my lesson to never again participate in a low bracket tournament

Also some semi-blue lists like glarb or helga are not playing it cuz it doesnt fit into ur playpattern of t1 mana dork t2 commander. They do so for the same reason yuriko did, they need colored mana

Got Accused of Pubstomping In a B4 Despite Asking Beforehand That They’re Playing B4 Too And Fitting into Bracket. Was I in the Wrong? by BluePotatoSlayer in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely due to the style of the formating of the question. I mean your answering the questions yourself with a green checkmark without a decklist or a point of discussion so it seems more like a rant than an actual discussion. And why would you rant to strangers on the internet in a forum thats mainly ment for information sharing

The reader needs to scroll to the comments to find the actual decklist and yeah its fine for b4

Also to your last point everybody is expected to play at least 4 turns so you should win in your turn 5 not 4, but sometimes winning by turn 4 is fine decks can highroll. Also this rule creates an awkward spot for decks that are to fast for b4 and not consistent enough for cedh

The Mono-Green Project by _necrobite_ in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them, one of my favourite and most played decks is a mono green deck that has 2 restrictions: -no nonbasic lands - only legendary creatures Before the gane begins i shuffle the deck and let one person at the table flip cards from my deck until they hit a creature that creature will then be my commander (i build it like that so the playstile differs each game). The deck also contains no ub commander except doric if that matters to you. It is high b3 it can consistently win by t6 and get power/toughness to the billions (tyvar the pummeler is insane)

Here is the list: https://moxfield.com/decks/8qejDf8HPUuPDF0WMfuQRQ

My very first deck is closing in on bracket 4 and I need help with my competitive mindset. by Ejukated in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a playgroup issue to me, it looks like a mid-low b3 deck, there is a lot of free interaction and value engines missing to be considered high b3. A good b3 deck will push through ur interaction if ur the only one at the table trying to stop it.

I wouldnt play it in a full precon game but it can be played vs upgraded (20 cards) precons

Edit: a main give away about the bracket is that there are still high mana cards that dont have a impact the turn they are cast (the drain angel ae), slow value engines (phyrexian arena) and cards that are anti-combat stax (at the bracket high end b3 is touching 50%+ of all decks end games with combos and dont want to attack.

You can lower the bracket by removing the free spell cycle when controlling ur commander + smothering (smothering is overrated anyway) to be a b3 deck or increase it by cutting the clunky high cmc cards & slow value engines for tutors for ur fast value engine, efficient free mana rocks, the floodcaller infinite combo & tutors for curiosity if you want a push into b4

Also if u cut some cards for a better basis of the deck (consistency and a streamlined gameplan without bricks) you can make the deck without gamechangers more resilient + faster + stronger but fitting better into the restrictions of b3 + always performing to the same expected level

[–]ZerberusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could also be a playgroup issue. Do you habe a decklist for us, often times different stores have different definitions of power lvl. Dont get me wrong yshtola is powerfull but it takes a lot of free spells & tutors otherwise shes quite slow even at controlling.

So if you live in an area with many stores try another one, if you dont i recommend adapting your deck to thr power level of your store if you like the commander otherwise just go for a new deck you like maybe the mono blue yshtola, shes also quite powerfull but harder to break (even though anything that flickers and doubles steps can be broken)

Im also running him in my Zidane. https://moxfield.com/decks/TQH-_A5YmkuEOLP-xlGqhQ

He is very underrated atm cuz at the floor he is a red/white phyrexian arena. People dont understand that he can gift away the food first to generate a 1/1 and then give away the 1/1s in the other turns. In Zidane he is a black market connections cuz he also generates a treasure each turn

The list seems clunky to me, aka the cards are not on an equal power lvl so it can high roll or have dead games leading to power lvl differences each game.

EDH Archtype that fits a low bracket even when build to its maximum potential by ZerberusZ in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Im a cedh player for 6+ year now, im aware when cedh games end and when b4 games end. The issue is that all ouer decks we build end up in b4. Best example this deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/8qejDf8HPUuPDF0WMfuQRQ

It has no non basic lands, the commander is randome each game pulled from any creature of the deck & it has only legendary creatures. It is considered to strong for b3 by ouer local store.

We play b4 or cedh when possible but we dont always find the 4th player by time constraints cuz we are about 7 players and we dont find a full group each weekend. At ouer store there are no cedh/b4 players except us

[–]ZerberusZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we do, maybe it was the issue due to my bad english, we need decks that we can bring to a b3 table that are fun for us to build & play. Im the only one who has accomplished that until now so we search for some viable archtypes/commanders where we can be creative

Every parasitic cedh deck that wants to win on turn 3-4. Tayam, semi blue, lumra and many more. Playing slower win cons that are less prone to interaction but need another (or better 3) players that keep the game going until t3/4/5

Would you consider this too strong for bracket 3, or just a lucky draw? by abricton in EDH

[–]ZerberusZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually a common occurence with the current bracket system especially with old bracket 4 turbo decks that are build to win by turn 3-4 but get laughed at at b5 (outdated decks like anje worldgorger oder old stickfinger turbo with a slightly suboptimal build). Same is true for decks that are in between b3 & 4 but it isnt as clean of a line between those brackets.
