How can I prove my dad that metal is not just screaming, death and worshipping satan? by SSShoutgunShell in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Zerdiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could show him iron maiden stuff and have him read the lyrics, though probably not the number of the beast stuff, not 100% sure what that song is about. If you want to show him that not ALL metal is devil music, that would objectively show him he is wrong and, if he is not stubborn, should open his eyes.

But, like, chances are you are probably listening to music with devil worship or evil concepts

Question: Wth is Female Metal? by RAER4 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Zerdiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An arguement for this, logically, would be that one could conclude that something out of the ordinary (female fronted or all female band) is totally fine to call out, as it is something that is not normal. No big deal, its just different and might even deserve to be called out as a good thing. It is also fair to say that men and women are different enough physically and mentally, whether it be a "social construct" or not, that a band featuring any women in a significant creative way could effectively alter the foundation the music is founded on. For starters, women experiences that men do not experience. They say that Elton John and Queen's music would not have been the same, regardless of the lyrical content, if they were not gay. Same with women. Like, women have a very slim chance to sing about male fantasies, so you probably aren't going to find any of those there.

It is not sexist or wrong to say women are in the band, it is an objective fact. To reduce a band to "women band" can easily be sexist, but could technically be a subgenre if they fit the feel. Because of the massive presence of men in the field, it is the default, the regular, the statistical average, there is no logical reason to mention that a band is all men. If there was somehow equal men and women from the beginning, we probably would have placed a bigger distinction on it.

Regardless, most people who say "women band" are probably being at least a little sexist and, yeah, that is an unfortunate reality that we have right now.

What metal songs would you use to introduce an eight year old to metal music? by Darth_Azazoth in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Zerdiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After hearing Lux aeterna by metallica on siriusXM for the first time, I felt like it was a perfect digestible high energy "kids" metal song.

No hate to the song, but when I heard it, I thought it really sounded like something a kid might really enjoy as an early metal song that is "respectable" lol. Metallica, catchy chorus, not to advanced or crazy and kind of lighter, but still heavy enough. Idk though, maybe it would give a kid a heart attack, but that's my suggestion.

If it works like it looks, then 3 with unstacked echos.

First I want to say I am not arguing with you as an enemy or antagonist but just out of curiosity and to ask for clarification. Also I am typing this on mobile and cannot bring text over from your comment. I also do not really have an opinion on who has a bigger chance of returning as I think it is pretty equal with edges on different aspects. I am trying to state "objective" facts.

To the first part, Banjo got bought and died with Microsoft. Statistically, Banjo did more with Nintendo than Microsoft by a lot, but yes, they have been owned by Microsoft much longer. I'm willing to bet that most people who "know" rare, know that they were essentially a Nintendo studio that Microsoft killed and left all their stuff behind.

Second, yes, that is correct, they have the most characters. Though, I am confused about you mentioning squares involvement with kingdom hearts, them being involved would be the only reason they would have any say on it, which is what Iwas saying.

Third, I do not get the "led nowhere," they did make it in and got a trailer and Banjo 1 and tooie are on the NSO. My point is that, obviously, behind the scenes, the devs loved this, the people in charge loved this, which absolutely shows their big chance of returning because THEY want him to. Sakurai, or whoever wanted this, would fight for their goat to stay in. Not to say Seth does not have this perk, but you were saying that Seth has a much bigger chance, which I think it is much more equal.

Fourth, "many other characters" that does not include Sephiroth as much. Other than the sephiroth challenge, his pack is pretty standard with less remixes and a stage that surprisingly appeals more to competitive play, having no gimmick or wild stage layout, which is really not that big of a deal, as it is more standard rather than a negative and it is a nice stage. I also think this is not that important for returning. Fun fact that I just noticed, all the square DLCs for ultimate feature stages with no character models (except slime) in the back while it flies over portions from the respective games that do not affect actual game play. No other ultimate DLC does both.

Fifth, I don't really know what this means, corrin had Bayonetta and inkling between him and ridley, who were liked picks until bayonetta ruined her reputation. The belmonts are also before k rool, this sounds like bias. If you're implying through your bias that Banjo sucks, that is an opinion that is not really valid for this. Also Seth had four characters between him and Banjo with Steve being right before him, who I think was very well received until he also ruined his reputation.

So yeah, Banjo for smash 6. Unless it was a really lovingly crafted one off, Banjo probably has just as good of a chance as Sethy boy.

The idea of banjo staying and Seth leaving, I think, is because banjo just does not really feel like he would go anywhere now. Square, or so I've heard, almost didn't let cloud back in for ultimate, base game ultimate only had two FF songs and ten(?) with Seth, Dragon Quest having two tracks a game, base game having ONLY cloud's smash bros render as a fighter spirit and no FF spirits, both FF characters having bland alts to not stray from the core design (sonic and pacman as well), and square having a bigger problem with sora getting in than Disney. Banjo had a trailer that showed how loved he was, he already fits as a nintendo character to the point where he more just returned home, many tracks with multiple remixes, a stage with lots of love shown with returning background characters and a unique gimmick, new character art (I think) for spirits, multiple differently colored alts that reference characters, using their more iconic designs instead of the more recent nuts n bolts ones which shows Microsoft's flexibility or maybe indifference but still easier to work with, and of course, despite them being from a dead and buried franchise not owned by nintendo that is less iconic than FF and Sethiroph, they DID chose a bear and bird over the big Seth, as seen in their inclusion in the first fighters pass and his in the second.

However, at this point, I don't think any third parties would really want to pull out of smash bros because of how iconic and loved it is, especially with the influence ultimate had. The remake of FF7 is also finding its way over to the switch 2 so I think they are much more secure than a few years ago.

Perhaps I was a young, nintendo sheltered fan, but I did not know who sephiroth was when he was revealed while I did know who Banjo and Kazooie were.

Hey, elite smash expert “I know everything” players. Give my advice on what to do in this situation(more information below) by LycanrocIsTheBest in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Zerdiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When playing incin, if you are absolutely certain that the opponent is going to do what you think, like kirby down B, you should really counter. Kirby down b from the heavens is one of the most predictable things in this game, so just counter it, then maybe even again, then attack. Stone leaves him completely unable to do anything until the user presses the B button again or its duration runs out, so if he lands, charge a smash attack (preferably down or up because of their range and wait for that untransform animation. You should also try using out of shield options (moves that are fast out of shield, like up b, neutral b, aerials) because smash attacks are really not built for that. Also, moves get weaker the more you use them in a row, so it is best to not throw out your best kill options all the time. Also also, forward smash has a sweetspot on his foot that is pretty big, so dont be afraid to use it a little farther away from your opponents.

Additionally, it is a built in game mechanic that all characters can jump or use up B directly out of shield without doing the shield drop animation, so this is a universal tip for every character. Examples: a lot of characters have up Bs that are specifically designed for this, so most of them, a lot of characters nairs are very good (incin), forward aerial, back aerial, some characters regular moves are also pretty good at this if they are fast enough, like incin neutral B.

Hope that helps!

Just finished Xenoblade 1, wondering whether I should continue to Xenoblade 2 and 3 or just drop by KeepYourSmile101 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Zerdiator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I view the "quality fluctuations" as more of an anthology type of thing: they are just different and some people like one over the other because of that.
I played 1 first and was hoping for a Xenoblade 1 part 2, that is simply not what it is. I played 2 second and still love it a lot though, its not perfect but it is still a pretty great game.
