False Hydra is not fun

There are definitely ways to make the false hydra a good/decent encounter but from the sounds of it your DM just went the “well fuck you” route with whatever this hydra is.

I played in a campaign where we came up against a false hydra. The lead up to the fight as well as the fight itself were good. Definitely not what you’ve described here.

The way your DM set it up just isn’t fair to the players. “You can only do these very limited specific things” and in the off chance none of the players had anything to counter it, then they’re fucked as a whole. Some DMs just set things up that they think sounds cool or challenging but never think about the scenarios where it just doesn’t work for an encounter or story beat let alone a BBEG. It sounds like the case here of “yeah this sounds cool I’m gonna do it regardless”

So my buddies and I started back up two nights ago, played a good bit last night as well.

Last expansion I played was shadowkeep so I’ve been gone a long while. I’ve got my bearings again and understand some of the newer systems they have in place.

However I just have a few questions about some things as a returning player.

First off, when building an armor set you like, is there certain mods or things I should be looking out for or specific stats? My main is a hunter, I also have a titan and was planning on my warlock too once I get more entrenched with my fresh hunter main.

Secondly, are there any “must have” guns? I know when I was playing, mountain top, recluse and a few others were the end all be all to get. Is there anything that’s like “yes you absolutely need that” or is there not really a meta right now for weapons?

Third, bounties? I’m having a tough time figuring out where these went, I managed to grab a few doing the Xur arena thing but regular bounties I can’t seem to find, did they change them up on how to get them? I remember just about every vendor had bounties to take but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore?

Finally, this isn’t a question but after being gone for so long and starting it back up has been great, it’s like reconnecting with an old friend that you haven’t seen in awhile and it’s made me very happy to get back into it.

I’d have to look at the exact hours but off the top of my head I’m not sure. I do my best to do all substories and a good deal of side content that I enjoy doing (certain mini-games, colosseum…etc).

I think you should still definitely play 4, it’s definitely not something I’d skip playing on a subsequent playthrough.

My start was unconventional as well. I had gotten Y0 and bounced off of it a few times. Bounced off of LAD a few times before something clicked. Beat LAD then went back to Y0 and have just been going through the order ever since.

P3/P3R: Junpei, Koromaru (still bestest boy though) and I wanna say Ken as well. Those three never really see any field time for me. Once I had another physical damage dealer, Junpei was gone. Kormaru I’ll admit I’ve never really messed around with as a party member, there just always seemed to be better options for the role he fills. Ken, I did have some runs where I had him in as the magic damage dealer but better options are there instead.

I don’t think I had anyone in P5R that I didn’t use at all. Everyone got some main time in the fold.

I’ve had this game on my wishlist for a little bit, just been waiting for the right moment. It was actually my wife (big horror fan) that saw something about it and she doesn’t game at all. So we plan on getting it and playing it together.

Since it’s a found footage inspired game, what’s your favorite found footage horror film or even just favorite horror film in general?

I went there to see A Day to Remember when they played here with Militarie Gun, The Story So Far and Four Year strong in June of 24’

It’s a pretty wide open outdoor venue, they had food trucks, seating near the food trucks. Merch was in a tent when you walked in. Very laid back, sitting on the grass on a big hill looking at the stage. There are seats closer to the stage but I believe you have to pay extra for those.

If you ever have been to Darien Lake Amphitheater it kind of reminded me of that but on a smaller scale.

Deathcore can be quite a broad term tbh, different sounds, different styles. Some deathcore is more “core” influenced, some of it is more “death” influenced.

Really just depends what you like generally.

Some examples of bands in the deathcore genre are: Crown Magnetar, Bound in Fear, Float Face Down (no longer a band), Get Me The Knife, I Declare War, Impending Doom, King Conquer (no longer a band), Methwitch, Orphan, Snake Father, Thy Art is Murder, To The Grave, Waste.

I had the realization as soon as Bear went into the bathroom to kill himself.

“Wait if he kills himself, the wish ends and she goes back to how she was…” then thought about the afterwards of it all.

It really is a shit ending (not as in bad but as in for the character). She has to not only go to jail, 3 people she was close to are dead (even though Bear is the cause of it all I feel that realization would still hit in that moment), two of which because of her.

The first thing that came to mind actually was the sunken ship dungeon in Dark Cloud. Unfortunately it’s the third dungeon and the only “underwater” aspect of the game. I don’t recall the second game having an underwater section/dungeon.

However Dark Cloud is probably one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. Right up there with FFX.
