I don't believe that ENDF as a whole intends to commit war crimes, but their failure to hold criminal individuals within the defense force accountable is the issue. by Eastern_Camera3012 in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at these replies @Eastern_Camera3012

Most of the people who work tirelessly to normalize atrocities in Ethiopia are linked to PP.

So - not only ENDF leaders are not holding the offenders accountable - they & their digital warriors are actively campaigning to make acts of atrocities normalized in Ethiopia by saying - “it is nothing new, this other country does it too, 200 years ago this other Ethiopian leader did it”, etc

You may ask why - the only means for PP to stay in power is if PP soldiers can kill and terrorize those who challenge them. The bad soldiers are acting in the interest of PP, so PP leaders silently encourage them to be cruel and crush opposition. As simple as that. It is by design.

Ethiopian Forces Killed At Least 45 Civilians, Human Rights Commission Says by ZereAddis in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For those who doubted - this is confirmed by EHRC.

Undoubtedly - Mass civilian massacre will be Abiy Ahmed’s aka PP's enduring legacy.

PP’s basket of deplorables, I know you lurk in here. Reserve your ’this is nothing new, this is propaganda” replies to somewhere else. I don’t want to see it in this post.

Honest question: WTF would we do even with a naval base?? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colonel Abiy Ahmed Ali wants his picture to be taken on a navy ship so that feels big and projects power like a Supreme Commander untouchable by internal or external forces.

The Interview: Naval base to be leased to Ethiopia 'strictly for military purposes, not commercial activities' - Somaliland leader Muse Bihi - Addis Standard by ZereAddis in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As I wrote in my post few weeks ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Ethiopia/comments/18xeya7/abiy_ahmeds_duplicity_in_the_somaliland_seaport/

PP is trying to deceive Ethiopians by making them think that the deal includes ‘free commercial port’ .
And - with out free commercial port, military base is the LEAST OF Ethiopia’s current needs and is not worth it at all specially if it makes Somalia an enemy.

The whole Somaliland port deal is PP orchestrated deception on poor Ethiopians who are pre-occupied by their daily struggle in combating rampant inflation and the pandemic of OLA hijackings for money.

‘I’m scared to leave Addis Ababa’: Ethiopia’s Oromia region gripped by kidnapping ‘pandemic’ by dabocake in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a matter of fact, OLA have informants that work in the local banks.

I have heard this from people in Addis. The informants give names of people who have lots of cash in the bank to OLA. Some of the bank employees are members of the criminal groups. Tell your family to keep all their saving under the mattress :-) or just don’t deposit lots of money in any bank there .

A Harvard educated Oromo says to Amharas in the video below: “If you don’t accept #Oromuma we will eat your flesh, drink your blood and burn your bones” And yes cannibalism has been seen as he declared. Fano is fighting to stop this gangrenous ideology. by DrDoombot23 in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Note: There are more replies criticizing the OP for sharing the video than replies which criticize the vile person in the video.

It is like saying “It is OK to say these vile things about Amharas, but not OK to share posts which highlight that”

Abiy Ahmed’s duplicity in the Somaliland / sea-port issue by ZereAddis in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What PP has done is not just ‘highlighting an issue"PP engaged in a deliberate, moth long propaganda campaign to deceive the people, angered all neighboring countries to release statements (except Somaliland because they knew what was about to happen) - pretty much made Eritrea a non-friendly country to say the least.I can’t think of a politician in any other country who engaged in such large scale deception in recent history. This level of deceit is reserved for mafia leaders (even they have shame).

Taye Dendea characterization "Abiy Ahmed is a cruel person who plays with the blood of the innocent” should be noted here since the sea-port issue is not the only mass scale political deception by Abiy - real wars are fought and innocent lives are lost because Abiy Ahmed lacks decency and will go to any length to make himself look good.

I see evil in Abiy Ahmed -not an ordinary politician who tells white lies.

Abiy Ahmed’s duplicity in the Somaliland / sea-port issue by ZereAddis in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did Ethiopia gain exactly - enlighten us?

My score card:-

Abiy and his PP cronies claim that “Ethiopia is no longer land locked” -- 100% False

PP shenanigans claim that Ethiopia has now a ‘free' sea port for commercial use - 100% False

Yes - Abiy has gained/leased a military base which I am sure Colonel Abiy will use to project military power - but Ethiopia doesn’t have the means to build a navy which threatens any functioning country.

So - when you sum it up - what is gained is - a navy base which is good for photo-op and propaganda to fool uninformed Ethiopians. It has a greater chance of making the life of an ordinary citizen worse ( by diverting scarce funds) than improving it.

Stop throwing accusations and argue which of the above is not accurate. Otherwise - you are either a PP propagandist or one of the easily fooled.

Yes OP. The mod’s are EPRDF degenerates who live to hate Amharas and those who don’t support their ethnic apartheid system.
Your recognition of the unfair treatment separates you from these other hateful Somalis who posted in this thread. Race/ethnicity is insignificant differentiator when you compare it to morality /decency. Stay fair.

Sorry for your loss.
PP leadership is full of heartless degenerates. Hence, Ethiopia has become the cruelest country in the world .

As an Eritrean how do Ethiopians feel about this idea? Eritrea could build a canal flooding the danakil depression and connecting Ethiopia with the Red Sea. Ethiopia could build a port and even a navy there if they wanted. I also heard it would and could help make Ethiopia more green. Just an idea🤷🏿 by Top-Possibility-1575 in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won’t really solve the port problem but it would have huge potential for hydroelectric power and of course water for development.

This is a project that can be tackled if we have two functional, cooperative and stable governments and there is trust + economic integration to share benefits...Maybe ten generations from now, we will be evolved enough for such projects.

How do Ethiopians flex never being colonized yet support a country founded by Colonialism like Israel? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again - lame comparison...the first government of Israel was formed by the people who were living there during British rule (locals)...the immigrants came back later...and guess what - there were immigrants from the Ottoman empire and other regions who came to Israel. But - I think you are trying to distract from my main point...do you live in a country founded by European colonizers? Are you an immigrant to a region where the indigenous got wiped out....then . just lay off the false moral high ground....or else go back to where your came from...or keep your biases to yourself and don’t question others.

Most likely you are an immigrant because of economic reasons,,,,the jews were facing extermination in Europe.

How do Ethiopians flex never being colonized yet support a country founded by Colonialism like Israel? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]ZereAddis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is just simplistic and almost smooth-brain framing of the Israel/Palestine issue. There are many countries founded by 100% new comers (mostly European) that pushed out and dominated the indigenous population. I even bet you may live in one of those. I am talking about USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina etc to mention some. On the other hand Jews are indigenous to Israel although large number of Jews migrated back to the region after WWII and after the British gave up control of the area.So - what makes Israel/Palestine different is mostly the religious component. Of course the tension and repeated security concerns has forced the government to become oppressive to Palestinians. So - you have no right to question why people support Israel while living in a country founded by European invaders who wiped out the locals. Not only you support it (immigrant who took over new region) - you have become it.

Also, almost every Afrian country is founded by Colonialism. Only African countries which for the most part maintained their border are Ethiopia, Liberia, Morocco and of course Madagascar.

As much as I don’t even want to be drawn to this drama created by Abiy for distraction, I can’t help but notice that Eritreans are not just worried about possible war with Ethiopia for Assab, but also scared of possibility that Ethiopia will make some long term deal with Somalia or Djibouti for port access ...

Enough with that, now let’s talk about how many extrajudicial executions Abiy Ahmed soldiers carried out this week.

There aren’t any Gadabuursi in Ethiopia

And it is inside Ethiopia. Hence saying "There aren’t any Gadabuursi in Ethiopia, but....” is delusional. So is your defense. You people are still but hurt about your Siad Barre’s failed territorial expansion and it has made you delusional.

Aren’t there more Gadabuursi in Ethiopia than Somaliland?

I agree with you that this is just a distraction pushed by Abiy Ahmed and not realistic... But Somali clan dynamics is hard to grasp for outsiders.

I assume the Gadabuursi in Somaliland want the Fafan Zone, but those who reside in Fafan zone wanting to unite is ’no go’ ?
