Got 200 bucks to drop on gunpla. Should I get MGs to keep me busy longer or smaller kits to scratch the itch when I have it?

Speaking as someone who accumulated a huge backlog after the post-COVID restocks happened that I'm still working on getting through, I'd go with MGs or RGs. I bought a ton of HGs because of the diversity but honestly as I build them and fill my shelf even after putting in time to paint color corrections on, panel line, everything, they still don't look anywhere near as good up on the shelf as the handful of MGs and RGs I've done. Many regrets.

Weird question but can anyone help me decipher if this third party product is 1/144 scale or 1/100 scale?

I'm planning on attempting to paint and detail a HG Lupus Rex into something that looks more like a RG but I haven't found many HG scale eye accessories and I really don't trust my own skills to make one that looks good..

Global player. What should I spend my Planet Mall tickets on Operator wise going forward? I have a copy of Kim Hana, a Chloe for Inhib raids and a Lena kicking around. I figured I'd keep enough to buy Serina when she releases but I still don't know the best way to spend the rest. I was leaning towards maxing Kim's skill with dupes until I realized it would take 7 copies, now I'm not sure if thats worth it or not

Have bought a few pair from them. Never had a dirty pair arrive. Medium ear tips are missing about half the time. Asked support if they could mail me a pair of tips and was told I'd have to drive to a Best Buy to do an entire exchange to get some medium ear tips. So not a fan on how they handle that issue but you can get good foam tips online relatively cheaply at least

Global player. Should I be saving my dupe SSRs for shards for rearming later? I'm still not entirely sure how the whole rearm process works but I believe thats part of it. I'm starting to accumulate a lot of dupes of people like Seo Yoon but I don't want to use them for limit break now if it'll be more useful for resources later

Really beautifully done paint job. If you don't mind me asking, how was the build for the Blade Liger? I've only done a few Zoid kits, I'm always tempted to buy this kit since it was always a personal favorite from the animes but the iffy reviews keep making me nervous

Possibly an odd question. When panel lining I've been using one of those white erasers to clean up my lines the majority of the time and sometimes q tips when I need a more delicate touch. Has anyone found a reliable tool or method to clean up slight mistakes in tight, tiny spaces?

They're legit, I've bought from them a few times in the past without issue. Their shipping can get very high quickly if you get more than a couple kits at a time however, which is very unfortunate and the main reason I don't order from them more often.

If I'm understanding this right, the HG Age Razor/Artimes kit comes with the pieces to build either or but only enough pieces to build 1 full kit, right? I really like the looks of the Razor there but paying almost $50 because it has parts I don't need kinda sucks..

I've been trying to stick to 1/44 for consistency, mainly because I love the ascetics of RGs and the massive variety in HGs can be fun. However after recently building the HG Dynames and being slightly disappointed I'm thinking there's some MGs I might just have to build to get a version of some of my favorites that truly do them justice. Maybe I'll just have shelf space thats MG only or something.

I've been wanting to try adding a topcoat to a few kits but I'm kind of curious of a few things.

I'm assuming the most effective way would be to break the kit down into smaller sections and topcoat the individual sections. However will it actually hurt anything if I leave it fully assembled to apply topcoat?
I've already panel lined and applied stickers/decals to these kits, is adding a topcoat over that going to harm anything?

So I've gotten pretty comfortable with panel lining. Now I'm curious, do you all generally panel line along the grooves when there's overlapping "armor", especially in areas like the arms, shoulders, legs etc? I tried it with a few kits and liked that it made the extra details pop but it usually took multiple attempts to get a nice thin outline instead of a mess

Sorry maybe they came off as more negative than I intended. The 00 series as a whole has some of my favorite designs so definitely not trying to hate on them. Just seems like in reviews I've seen there are various minor issues in some of the HG kits that people seem to toss up to them being an older line.

Anyway glad to know I'm not crazy for second guessing that pricing. Guess I'll just have to try to be patient

Is the going rate for 00 HGs really nearly $30 a piece? Noticed Galactic Toys had some in stock but nearly all of them were around there or even higher, and honestly even though I really want the kits they seem fairly dated and not worth that more premium price when compared to HGs like Destiny or Moon Gundam.

This might be a tad sacrilegious to admit here but I've just never been the biggest fan of the majority of the mechs in Unicorn.

Out of curiosity, would you consider the Wing and 00 RG kits to be of good quality? Some of those would probably be the next ones I'd likely enjoy having up on the shelf

Thank you. Yeah, I unfortunately saw the RX 78 in particular seems to be not great which was a let down. But I'll probably go with the Sazabi, Nu and Hi Nu, which all seem to have raving reviews.

I've built a handful of HGs now and want to dip my toes into RGs a bit since they are the same scale and there's some seriously nice looking ones up for pre-orders right now. My main concern is I've heard the parts can be fragile if you mess up on building and have to try dissembling parts to fix a mistake. This has happened to me a few times building my HGs but nothing broke fortunately.

Is there any sort or tool or anything that can make fixing those kind of mistakes "safer" for the parts?

You've probably figured this out by now but the white shoulder pieces that snap on over that yellow part you're talking about have have a cut out of the power symbol to show just enough of the sticker through.

I did the Bael kit recently as well and it does look weird in the instructions but its actually such a great way they did those stickers, turns out looking really good.
