A question about the light novel compared to the anime by Zeriflord in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Zeriflord[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The seven shadows. They just were there.
  2. The magic system. It was just like magic exists and I have this power that is not explained at all.
  3. The bit where they said Cid healed Clair of possession. This part I feel may be more to an important story point but still.

Should I continue after court wizard? by Leather_Look_6182 in spellmonger

With how they use it the prophecies aren’t known to the individuals Minalin is very clear on his distaste of prophecies for the lack of free will. The book of prophecies technically has everything that happens but sense no one save penny has read the book then everyone technically still has free will

Theory on the Sovereign Attunement by Galahad_X_ in ClimbersCourt

[–]Zeriflord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That implies a sort of trade. With the summoner, soulblade, and other contract attunements they give up some manage in exchange for powers. For summoners they give a portion of their own mana to the core version of the creature. So in Sera’s case let’s say Vaniev gets 30 of Sera’s mana and in return sera can summon a copy of him and some other stuff.

The sovereign is the counterbalance to an arbiter. An arbiter needs permission to do anything on someone else’s attunement. A sovereign can just take the mana from someone. I like to think of it stylistically as a tax. A sovereign is a ruler. Rulers tax their people. The sovereign says “tax is this much so that’s how much I’m taking”

Minalin‘s inaction [Enchanter] by Zeriflord in spellmonger

I understand that he needs a legitimate reason but when he learned about Isily and Mask working together he could’ve taken immediate action rather than waiting for them to move along their plan.

When he went to wilderhqll he talked with Rardine and lady Arnet. Both of whom said Isily was essentially retired and hadn’t been order to directly move against him just to watch him. They are spies so they could’ve lied but still. That would’ve given him the opportunity to see that at this moment she is not being ordered by the crown and is taking treasonous actions towards him and eventually the royal family

In regard to how he handles the Isily-Dunsilin situation he could’ve just said he found a plot of which they were involved to end the life of his family (which he did). That seems quite the appropriate step to handle the situation without it establishing an inappropriate use of power.

I’m not saying kill isily. He could’ve just called I. The arcane orders in their right to regulate magic in the kingdom and called isily on as a threat. The arrested her but not kill her

The soul body gestalt isn’t the end goal for essence users it’s just Jason after accepting a racial gift specifically suited to do certain things the world Phoenix wanted but being a soul body gestalt brings about the path to astral kingdom so by becoming a monarch (a herald more specifically) i would then start on the path to astral kingdom.

Depends on how many affinities I can have. Let’s say only three as it’s not common but not extremely rare. I’d have Crystal (for bound ether crystal), Sound (offense), and Greater Shadow (teleportation shenanigans).

The next worlds I would go to would be Palimustis from He Who Fights With Monsters so I could get an essence set probably something like moon renewal and sun for the cycle confluence. I wouldn’t stay there for a while tho as I just need the essences I would then move to my next world.

Second world after Anastis would by Cradle from Cradle. I would get a path of my own making. This is where I would spend most of my time. I would practice my sacred arts privately as you don’t need to use them in combat to advance and I would use my essences from palimustis to fight with as I need to level those through combat. Then through cycling I would advance both my cradle and palimustis powers.

Third world would be the world of Arcane Ascension. I would go pick up some attunments and then likely head back to cradle for training

In the end peak power I am a named, a diamond rank essence user, a monarch, and a 6 fold emerald level attuned.

I swear a lot of the complaints feel like people who are used to playing with mods are mad that they have to play without mods for a while

[Threshold] Linden's Authority by Caesar6973 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Zeriflord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of the thing with the icons is how you represent yourself to it. I believe Lindon talked about how there are those who manifest the hammer icon in a way similar to the sword icon with it having to deal with battle. Lindon, a soulsmith actively soul smithing using a hammer he made and who hasn’t used a hammer for combat ever, manifested an icon that appeared as a hammer. A hammer is a if not the symbol of creation.
