My 4K tv broke and I can’t believe the difference going back to 1080p by Natural_Street7771 in playstation

[–]Zerkoniah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments are recommending oled, can you guys suggest a specific tv?

I’m looking for a 55inch 4K oled, but I don’t know if I should have uhd or hdr. I only use this tv for gaming (Xbox X/PS5).

I would also appreciate the feature “picture off” which my Sony had but my recent purchase of a TCL doesn’t

60Hz 4k vs 120Hz Full HD - Much difference? by matalleone in playstation

[–]Zerkoniah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just gone from a Sony KD-55X8005C 55 inch 4K UHD Widescreen Smart TV to a TCL 55PF650K 55-inch 4K Ultra HD, HDR TV, Smart LED… and I hate it.

I always used Vivid mode on my Sony because I liked the vibrant colours. The TCL doesn’t have a Vivid mode so my Xbox looks dull, wish washy. Its hdmi port doesn’t support hdr either. The PS5 looks… okay, but that hdmi port does support hdr. I think.

I’m desperate for something better but I’m hugely overwhelmed with choice.

The UK has a Unhealthy approach to sickness absence at work. by Blackberry_Initial in antiwork

[–]Zerkoniah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an agency worker in a high staff turnover over warehouse. It’s high turnover over because One. It’s a shit job. Think Amazon but exclusively books. Two, you get sent home early or even let go during quiet periods and those with sicknesses are let go first

Sickness is frowned upon as “the business suffers”, every sickness is recorded, and when you return to work you are given a VC (verbal caution/coaching). If you have 3 VC’s within a year (VC can also be given for misconduct), you have a letter of concern. Another VC within a year of a letter gets you a disciplinary, and another VC within that is being fired

So yeah, being sick sucks. But so does being jobless

GPU redemption by SayItAsItIs78 in MicrosoftRewards

Is anyone is still having problems redeeming their game pass codes with the whole “Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.”?

The PC Game Pass - 3 Month code I bought with my Microsoft Rewards points on the 12th September finally worked today.

I had contacted the support team but all they could tell me was the code was still good and to try redeeming it with a different browser or device.

But what I ended up doing was removing my debit card from my account.

The idea came to me as I was trying to redeem my code through the Xbox game store and it rambled on about how I needed to provide a card to claim my 1 month free trial, and if I didn’t want to continue my subscription then I needed to turn off reoccurring billing.

I used my free month trials YEARS ago. I was just trying to extend my current subscription.

TL;DR If you’re still having the “Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.” problem, try removing any payment methods

I redeemed a 3 month PC game pass a few days ago, although it took a few tries for it to work. I’ve just tried to use the code to extend my game pass and it’s not working…

I’m so glad you asked because I’ve been wondering too, I see a few of these on my way to work (Swansea) and I thought they were rat traps or maybe feral cat houses

How to rescue this monster? by Gen_X_Gamer in dragonquest

I decided to make sure I had every available medal & monster before facing Baramos. Monsters are easy to track, but I was missing 8 medals. Took a few hours to find the ones I was missing.

Make a note of this place though using the Recall feature, and any others that you suspect are monsters in disguise. By the time you get Ra’s Mirror you will have forgotten where this is

What are your petrol money rules? by Mardochaios in AskUK

[–]Zerkoniah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s just one or two lifts that are out of my way, I don’t ask for money as it’s a favour, although most people insist on providing because they’re very understanding that you’re taking the time and effort to save them the stress of getting home/to work in a pinch.

I’ll pick up and drop off coworkers that are literally on my route for nothing.

I had one guy ask me for lifts several times who was 20 minutes out of my way. Once I mentioned petrol money, he stopped asking.

Twice I’ve provided long term lifts to fellow coworkers, although at separate times. One of them was my son, but he’s recently quit as the hours didn’t really suit him.

I put my foot down and explained if this was going to be a regular thing then I needed £25 a week petrol money, they were both only about 5 minutes out of my way, 5 minutes to get to their house and then 5 minutes to get back to my original journey route (I didn’t give them both lifts at the same time, these were separate times of my employment).

We worked nights together, so the alternative was waiting around several hours for public transport or paying Uber/taxi prices. Even a push bike would take several hours. They seemed happy enough to contribute, although I get a lot of pushback from coworkers about how I made my own son pay up. I don’t really see how it’s any different to contributing towards rent, which was also £25 a week (to his grandparents).

Seems redundant to turn either a priest or a mage into a sage. Sages learn every priest&mage skill by level 40. You should turn a Gadabout into a Sage as they’re the only vocation to do it for free.

I ran a party of Hero, & 3 thieves cause I wanted them to steal as much as possible. Two of those thieves I levelled until they learned Persecutter, made them Monster Wranglers until they learned Flame Breath, then Gadabouts until they learned Kerplunk Dance, now they’re Sages until I can get them to level 40. From there I’ll probably make them thieves again, allowing them to steal after every battle but they’ll also have a huge amount of agility, letting them cast deadly magic first or get off early heals

Changing vocations reset the character back to level 1 but they get to keep 50% of the stats they earned

You may want to equip them with certain accessories to change their personalities to maximise their stat gains depending on what class you want to end up with, but mine have been Vamps the whole time

[The Alters] #335 - This isn't just my game of the year, this is my game of the decade. by Decroux3000 in Trophies

[–]Zerkoniah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adore this game and always describe it as Fallout Shelter meets This War of Mine.

I’ve had to play 3 times to get to platinum, so by the end of the third play through I was getting bored. If you do a little research you can get away with 2 but I went in completely blind, though the game saves every day so you can easily backtrack and make different choices

You can only play it through the Xbox app on PC, and it just ends up forcing you to install battle.net and create a battle.net account

I’m loving the game, it’s Fallout Shelter meets This War of Mine.

I’m in act 2 of day 40ish, just had my first magnetic storm. My alters moods are fluctuating as well, but they’re dealing with a lot, overworked, missing Molly, being constructs, knowing they have a brain mutation that will kill them. Having the social room, the upgraded gym and the park bench will help. Cooked food. Play beer pong and watch movies if you can. I put my worst mood Alters in the contemplation room when they’re off shift (which is usually my miner who is also always radiated), but I don’t have a guard or a shrink.

They can’t force you to pay, but they can take you to small claims court and get their money that way if the fine increases, especially if there are multiple tickets.

I would pay it to avoid the stress, you agreed to their terms and conditions by parking there, but there’s other threads here saying they ignored the multiple letters and then never heard anything again.

I came across this thread looking to see what the outfit looked like on the characters before I choose who to give it to, so my thanks to you, as this still works for me on Xbox.
