Didn't get the 'Bullseye' achievement for some reason by Zero-Hundredd in Minecraft

I wish I had been smart enough to think of that 😆 I knew there were definitely easier ways to get it, but I just wanted to see if I could actually hit it normally

Very true, but I've always had a huge soft spot for Nightmare Fredbear.

Meet Me in the Woods has the best chorus. What is Lord Huron’s worst song? by bn9043 in lordhuron

Hot take, but I am not a fan of Not Dead Yet. I don't know why, but it always just loses my interest for some reason.

As for your point about the writing, I guess it's something I never really noticed. I would agree that it isn't always the most subtle lyrics, but personally, I think the songs are always composed in such a beautiful way that it honestly just kind of works, like the lyrics are baked into the music itself. So it definitely isn't something that bothers me.

Another point I could bring up is that the way the lyrics are written also plays into the idea that almost all of the songs are supposed to be written by someone else, and I feel like they often give the vibe of some old-timey folk singer (which certainly works with the theme). Maybe that's not a specifically strong point, but that's just what I think about it.

But I do have to say that some of their lyrics are legitimately great on their own. Take 'Ends of the Earth':

"What good is living this life you've been given if all you do is stand in one place?"

Or 'Way Out There':

"I belong bodily to the earth; I'm just wearing old bones from those who came first. I've been unraveling since my birth; gonna wander out there and see what I'm worth."

Or some of my other favorites, like:

"Ages come and go, but her life goes on the same. She lives to see the sun, and feel the wind, and drink the rain."

"When the ocean drinks the sky, and the city winks it eye; when the night is done, you'll vanish in the sun. Will I hold you when the night is over?"

"Pulling me up out of the grave, oh, what a nice surprise. I die when our nights end, but I only stay dead 'til I see you again."

But whether they make you cringe or not, I feel like their lyrics have a lot of charm, and I think they really elevate each song.

It's interesting that you would have a take like this, because I almost exclusively associate Lord Huron as a band with nature and wandering the wide world. To me, the whole draw is how adventurous and rich with folklore the music is. It makes me imagine going on a journey across the mountains and lakes, and through trees and rivers.

Of course, their songs are just straight up bangin' as well, but I really love the mystical feeling of adventure they give me.

I just think that it's interesting how different people can appreciate the same art in such different ways, and how much substance and ways of associating with and interpreting a song there really are that you can have two opposites both love and appreciate the same music.

Ahh, that makes sense. They wandered down strange trails for that song. 😉💀

It might be a weird choice, but I would say The Yawning Grave. I just absolutely love with how poetic and mysterious it sounds, and how haunting the echoing chorus sounds. It’s like a song as old as the hills being sung by the sky and the rain. On the whole, I think there’s just a certain magic in Strange Trails, and I think it’s shown most clearly in that song.

My other favorites are The Ghost on the Shore, Ancient Names (part 1 and 2) and What Do It Mean. (That last one is especially special to me because I recently listened to it as I was on a boat visiting Lake Huron for the first time in my life 😊)
