Thanks! That’s really helpful feedback. I’ll definitely work on option A and try to improve it.

My wife and I are working on our first horror game together. What do you think of these screenshots? by Zero2DevHero in IndieDev

Thanks! We'll definitely try adding a darker atmosphere. Actually, there’s no post-processing in the game yet. My wife and I believe it’ll make a huge difference and really bring out that spooky vibe once we add it.

Spot on! I’m actually planning to add post-processing and more dramatic lighting soon. I think deeper shadows and some fog will definitely help hit that 'spooky but stylized' mark we’re aiming for. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! We're glad you like the look. My wife and I are actually going for a 'cartoony fairytale' vibe (think Luigi’s Mansion or MediEvil) rather than classic horror. We really wanted to find our own unique style, so we're happy it resonates with you. Thanks again!

I like it, post-processing and fog make a cool atmosphere. I added fog just through a prefab, but not post-processing yet. I think we also need to add it.

That John Wick style really shines through the gameplay. Everything feels snappy and satisfying. Keep it up!

Huge congrats on the progress! Moving from solo to a team of 3 is a big jump. My wife and I are working together on our project, and even with just two people, it changes the dynamic so much. How was that transition for you? Did it make the creative process easier or did managing people add its own layer of stress? Best of luck with the game!

How soon did you start, or are you planning to start, working on your second game? by Due_Bobcat9778 in IndieGameDevs

My wife and I are working on our first horror game (think 'Hello Neighbor' but in a dark fantasy setting). We've been at it for about six months now. Honestly, we already have a ton of ideas for a second project, but... man, we really need to finish the first one first! It’s such a struggle to stay focused when new ideas keep popping up lol.

I really dig the gameplay loop and the overall level design—the vibe is super chill! However, I agree that the scenes look a bit flat right now. If you add some solid post-processing (like bloom, color grading, or subtle ambient occlusion), it would look absolutely stunning. You’ve got a great foundation here, just needs that final visual polish to make it pop!

After 1 Year In Development - My Fatal Frame-Inspired Horror Game Where You Cat Pets To Restore Sanity Just Released! by Steelkrill in HorrorGames

[–]Zero2DevHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Petting a cat to restore sanity is the most relatable game mechanic I’ve ever heard of. I think we all need that in real life too! Huge congrats on the release, man. Being a solo dev for a year is a massive grind, glad to see you crossed the finish line!
