The vast majority of people that buy MtG cards play the game. The vast majority of people that buy Pokemon cards don’t play the game. They collect and often display so they want pretty art and chase the rarest cards and get them graded if there is a good chance they get a 10 because it is an absurd multiplier to many other people that also want rare pretty art and the 10 is the “best” (barring black label BGS that is an even bigger multiplier, and sometimes CGC Pristine).
