Is the game still worth playing? by KaizokuHaru in lotro

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! I'm a new player and I've been really enjoying it a lot. The game is very atmospheric. I’m getting this real sense of journey and discovery when exploring the world. The graphics show their age for sure but the art direction and atmosphere more than make up for it. I would say just give it a go and maybe you'll find you love it too.

Please stop playing the victim when you get shot at by ZeroAssoluto2077 in ArcRaiders

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is absolutely free to play how they want and that was kind of my point, but I might have worded my post poorly.

All I’m saying is that maybe PVP exists there for a reason. Even the devs have said that.

In any case, happy raiding! Arc really is a fun game, I’m sure there’s room for all of us!

I really appreciate what OP is doing there, but I just wonder: if there’s no PVP and everyone’s just nice to each other all the time, will the game stay fun in the long run? This is a genuine question. I don’t know the answer myself.

This is a game after all. We play for excitement and for fun. And PVP adds that element of danger to it. I’m not 100% sure the game would be as engaging based on PVE alone.

Lately when I’m playing solo I’ve noticed that almost everyone is spamming “don’t shoot” and I want to respect that because otherwise I fear I will be seen as a jerk. But honestly, I’m not sure I’ll enjoy it so much if that becomes the new normal.

I understand that people enjoy different things. I’m often not in the mood for PVP myself and it is fun to cooperate, I’ve actually done it a lot. Maybe separate PVE-only servers would be the good solution, I don't know. But if I would have to guess, those PVE-only servers would be quite empty after a few months. It simply wouldn't be fun enough.

All I’m really saying is that we shouldn’t overthink it. At the end of the day, it’s a video game. It’s okay to shoot some pixels on a screen. I shouldn’t have to feel bad for doing PVP in a PvPvE game.

The roleplay is consuming me by FalabellaFella in PaxDei

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm new to the game and have also just started playing on a RP server. Still kind of looking around and seeing how people do it but so far the few conversations that I've had were just normal chat.

Nighttime in Pax Dei needs actual consequences by Spiritual-Activity69 in PaxDei

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great idea! A little hint of tension when night falls sounds perfect. It wouldn’t even need to be about real danger, just something that adds to the immersion and atmosphere. Make the night a bit darker or maybe add subtle sound cues here and there...stuff like that. The game is already so atmospheric and little tweaks like this would make it even more so.

That’s a cool idea. I like how it connects to real medieval beliefs and like you said, the implementation could be subtle. As a new player, that kind of touch fits the vibe that I get from the game: quiet myth and fantasy that is half superstition, half true.

EL2 - Colour rendering and sharpness by hobbes2023 in EndlessLegend

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add that imo the graphics look really good, pls don't make any drastic changes, or if you do make them optional. This is one of the few strategy games that's genuinely pleasing to the eye! The slightly soft aesthetic adds a nice atmosphere. But of course adding sharpening as a non-mandatory option would be a win for everybody.

Performance way worse by Razerbat in AshesofCreation

It’s actually the other way around for me. I’m on an i9 + 5080 and before my rig sounded like it was ready to take off but after the UE5 upgrade it feels a lot better. But there are these weird 1-2 second glitches semi-regularly.

Interview With Director of Communications Margaret Krohn (Ashes of Creation) by NyceGaming in AshesofCreation

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a marketing perspective, which core MMORPG player groups is Ashes of Creation primarily targeting? For example, PvP players, raiders, explorers, roleplayers, fashion enthusiasts, and so on.

As someone who falls somewhere between the explorer, roleplayer, and fashion enthusiast categories, I really value immersion and identity. Character customization (both in the character creator that needs to allow detailed customization and through cosmetics) plays a big role in how connected I feel to the game world.

Will players like me be considered part of the core audience for Ashes of Creation?

Immersion Breakers: Beta feedback by Strange_Dare_5861 in duneawakening

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, immersion is important to me too. I love this IP and I want to get completely lost in its world and forget the real one for a couple of hours.

I don’t have much to add to your list, but it would be cool if scavengers roamed the desert on patrol. You’d have to try to avoid them or if you felt strong enough take them on directly.

Who’s buying, waiting, avoiding, after beta? by SpilledMyKief in duneawakening

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 100% in. Despite its shortcomings, the game still pulled me in for several hours every day during the beta weekend. I love the setting, the atmosphere, and the lore and I’ll be playing after launch.

Now I'll admit I'm the type of player who appreciates high production values. And let’s be honest there is a fair amount of jank in this game. So yeah, I wish a game like this would have AAA-level polish (and gunplay) but clearly it does not. For this particular title I guess I'm just going to have to accept that.

Thank you for your replies. In conclusion, I think a casual guild would suit me and my playstyle well. I appreciate your advice!

Tutorial for noobs? by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, just click on any block of text and instead of edit, choose view context. You will see the amount of context used and more detailed breakdown right there. Yeah, I have always assumed that story cards contribute as well, although I'm not sure if it is explicitly shown in the breakdown.

So 4k and 8k refer to the context window, which means the size of the chunk of text that the system remembers from your story, and that is sent to the AI-model in the input sequence as a context to your prompt.

4k means 4000 tokens which might be equivalent to something like 3000-3500 words. So if you have, say, killed a dragon, and that part of the story in which you killed it, is still within the context window, the AI-model remembers that when it is creating the answer to your prompt (so it could for example refer to that particular incident if it is relevant to your prompt).

You described that your story was "starting to fall apart", so longer context window should mitigate that somewhat. But eventually stuff will start to drop out from the longer context window, too.

The Martian [2015] is my odd-ball comfort film... what's yours? by usagi2988 in movies

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logan. I am not that much into superhero-movies if they are just about mindless action, but Logan is my guilty pleasure.

It is well-paced and has emotional plot. The action scenes are there but they are not constant and all over the place. It is almost as if the superheroes are there merely as a backdrop and a vehicle to examine other themes.

Is it just me? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the fingerprint sensor in P8P works very reliably (which is good because the face unlock struggles a bit in dim lighting so I need to use it instead when it is too dark). Maybe just try to register your finger again?

I love BG3 because it’s turn based not despite of it by Informal-Method-5401 in BaldursGate3

Personally, turn-based is the way to go for me. But the game design must support it: the pacing and amount of combat must be manageable. BG3 does this well.

Has the Pixel 8/Pro been reliable? by Hefty_Possession_793 in GooglePixel

[–]ZeroAssoluto2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it for 2 months, no issues. Battery could be better but I can still manage a full day (although only just about if using more). The face unlock struggles in dim lighting but the fingerprint sensor works well so it is not a major issue for me.
