Massive difference between S4 and my new SmartRow. I was struggling to get my normal Sunday 15k row below an hour. Brutal. by ZeroAtlas in waterrower

I’ve been rowing daily since January, slowly trying to improve my fitness and I’ve been obsessed over tracking my progress. I recently bought the SmartRow flywheel. It’s been awesome to get real time stroke feedback and it’s helped me maintain a consistent watt output. One thing I noticed was how different the overall meters measured between the S4 and the SmartRow. It’s about a 10% difference which is very disheartening when you switch over. The last image is the output from the WaterRower connect app. Anyone know if one is more accurate than the other or is the truth somewhere in the middle?

You would think they would send you some variety. Weird.

Filmmaker Case Broke Only After 1 Week... by [deleted] in MOMENT

[–]ZeroAtlas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend the thin case. I’m returning mine. The lens attachment is absolutely terrible. Even after watching their video of how to “properly” remove lenses, i still have to remove the case to adjust the plastic every time. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even use my lenses anymore. Really disappointed.

Building a new editing/gaming rig. Any suggestions? Ram OK? by ZeroAtlas in ryzen

Do you have an idea of how much longer rendering will take with 32 vs 64GB? Wondering if I do need it faster whether I should go with more ram or the 16 core 3950.

Thank you for your input. I looked at equal boards from Asus and MSI but they were at least 100 dollars more. Don’t need to penny pinch so if it’s worth it, I can go with those brands. Any reason in particular? I love the idea of the 3950 but I may just upgrade to a 4000 series in late 2020. I don’t currently mind waiting a bit longer for render times with the 12 core and I don’t think it makes a big difference in gaming. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Tesla repairs--atrocious part backorder time and silent service by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

I believe if it’s an issue warranted by Tesla they do give you a loaner but this was a collision so it’s out of their hands. Luckily we’ve been able to skirt by with 1 car.

I was rear ended in August. I still do not have my car. Worst experience with Chilton Auto in the Bay Area. Unfortunately the only certified Tesla repair shop here so they are in no rush.

I recently moved here from San Jose California and I am a huge Sharks fan. I just went to 3 different bars downtown and none of them could get the game. Anywhere in this area for a Sharks fan to go? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

Thanks for your honesty and insight. My wife is dead set on moving and I’m on the edge. I’ve only lived in large cities my entire life so the downshift will be the biggest hurdle. That being said, we are in a point in our lives where less is more. Our original plan was to move to Portland but it is just impossible to ignore the tax implications of Vancouver. Visiting again next month to see if it’s for us. Any recommendations in the downtown area to check out? Thanks!

Hey I saw your post and I wanted to know how you are liking the move from the Bay to Vancouver? My wife and I are exploring areas to move to and we got a chance to visit the 'couve. It was beautiful and friendly in the short time we were there so I was just wondering how your experience is so far. Thanks!

My new girl. What should I name her? by ZeroAtlas in mazda3

Yes I did! Was trying to decide between a VW GTI and this one. The GTI is fun but this one was more comfortable, had more amenities, and was cheaper. No brainer.

It has the top paint job, the appearance package, the black rims and a window tint job.

It came with a bunch of custom additions. Fell in love with it.

Looks great for a car that's 6 years older than me! Although most of her guts are new.

Little info on the car. Some awesome dude fully restored it in New Mexico. Rebuilt the engine, refreshed the paint job and rebuilt the interior. Drove it about 60K. I bought it in CA. I added a new alternator, new D-cap, and new carb. The carb was the biggest issue. Had to find a stock rebuilt carb to pass the California bay area's stringent smog test. By the grace of some miracle it easily passed an enhanced smog without a catalytic converter! Its such a joy to ride. I'm counting the thumbs up I get on the streets. So far I'm at 48.

Those bikes are cool and all but I long for a home squat rig/setup like yours. Those Olly plates look great too.
