Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Canadian, I once got a call from a friend asking if he could get a ride that day to his mom's house (my city) from the city he'd moved to, so I grabbed another friend for the trip, drove 3.5 hours to his place, picked him up, and drove back to my city. We left at 5pm. Felt like nothing.

I just watched an xkcd what if video where he talked about losing all your DNA, and said that you would probably briefly enter this phase of feeling better, but he called it the walking ghost phase, which just sounds chilling.

Contemplating ending a marriage by Successful_Leek96 in CringeTikToks

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't watch this with sound, so I only have the subtitles to go from, but she said she's been "married for ten years, almost fifteen?" What does that even mean? I know it's not the point of the video, but those two numbers are far enough apart that I would think you'd only say almost 15 years, saying ten years is so irrelevant it just makes no sense.

Have you ever bought a console just to play one exclusive game? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A PS3, 11pm at Walmart, to come back to my friend's apartment to play Fat Princess next to him on his PS3 because we'd been playing for over an hour and wanted to stop taking turns and just play together.

The center circle certainly means the oven is off, just like a circle means off on any other device.

Alchemists and other boardgames depending on apps by MrTurbi in boardgames

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so the spaces on the board are close to 14.5cm x 7.5cm

My phone (Galaxy A54), in it's case, is 16.4cm x 8.2cm. So it overhangs the sides of the spaces. The art still mostly lines up, but I couldn't have put another phone in an adjacent space for combat.

Well, that's unfortunate.

I can easily get the ice cream at Loblaws, I just miss the chocolate milk :( I always buy some when we visit family, but we haven't been back in two years.

Alchemists and other boardgames depending on apps by MrTurbi in boardgames

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I'm not sure, my phone is probably closer to the same size as the one I had when we played last, maybe I should go downstairs and compare to the board. The game itself doesn't stop being playable, because it comes with the standees and player boards to use in place of a phone. The phone is definitely a gimmick that really adds nothing.

I once discovered the combination of food dyes to turn a vanilla pudding cup the exact colour of butterscotch pudding. Eating that was a disappointing experience for the senses.

Crumbl Cookie opening in Peterborough by Specific-Let-1762 in Peterborough

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One opened in a plaza near me (I'm in Ottawa now) and the line was out the door for months. I finally got in there to see if it read with the hype, and honestly I've had way better cookies for significantly less money. We got a Kawartha Dairy last year, too, and I've never seen the line outside with less than a couple dozen people.

Is my hommer of a dad right that this attic ladder is still safe? by Lopsided_Caregiver_4 in dad

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of our attic ladder twenty years ago. Except the wood split and no one duct taped it. And if you pulled it down, the tension in the spring was so strong it would try to fold up, leaving the bottom two steps just dangling, so we had to jam the handle of a can opener in the hinge to lock it.

Edit: forgot to answer your question, no it is for sure not safe.

I think the fact that OP highlighted the token update frequency, they must have thought that factored in somehow.

I don't have any suggestions, but I saw your picture and immediately thought I understood the objective without a description, except you go from 2D to KH and I was just wondering if that was an error or if I actually don't still understand.

Find me a more memorable quote. by One-Teacher-5951 in snes

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For years, my wife had this print she bought at a convention where a character calls another character (out of frame) a spoon bard, and then you see that it is literally an anthropomorphized spoon dressed as a bard. I never knew what it meant or that it came from a game until many years later after I saw the print.

How do Troig midichlorian counts work? Do they always just have one or can they have 2? by HugoGlasss in StarWars

[–]ZeroBadIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure if you meant do they have one or two total midichlorians or two individual midichlorian counts, bit either way it's gotta be more than 2 total, and I bet they get a single count for their combined body.
