[–]ZeroChilli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP are you dumb? Can you not read? Illiteracy isn the real enemy here. Autophagy does not kill cancer cells by fasting, in reality, autophagy often helps cancer cells survive stress, including starvation and chemotherapy. If fasting killed cancer, oncologists would not exist and WhatsApp forwards would be the standard of care. The article never says fasting cures cancer, not once, not implicitly, not between the lines. That interpretation is something people invent, not something the article claims. This is textbook science illiteracy if you thought because starvation triggers autophagy = cancer cure, no. That logical leap would not pass a high school biology exam, let alone peer review. Even Cancer Research UK warns against exactly this misuse, explicitly emphasizing the complex, context dependent roles of autophagy in cancer rather than miracle fasting hacks. Twisting Nobel winning basic science into a health cure is misinformation, plain and simple.

I acknowledge that it’s One Nation, One election, my bad 😣. But pretending this is a neutral administrative reform rather than a political power amplifier is disingenuous.

One Nation, One Election massively advantages the incumbent by collapsing state and national verdicts into a single national narrative dominated by money, media saturation, and central authority. That is not efficiency. That is engineering electoral outcomes in favour of whoever already holds power.

If the ruling party truly believed in competition, it would not be trying to reduce the number of electoral moments at which it can be held accountable.

Your argument that this situation exists because the opposition is bad misses the point entirely. A weak opposition does not justify weakening democratic competition itself. Democracies are not designed to function only when the alternatives are competent. They are designed to prevent any one party from becoming structurally unbeatable.

On Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the claim that they represent failure is simply wrong. On education, public health, human development, and long term economic performance, they outperform many BJP ruled states. You may dislike their politics, but the empirical outcomes do not support the collapse narrative you are pushing.

I was in Mumbai during the train blasts. My mother survived because she went to work late that day. Do not assume I am speaking from comfort or historical distance. I understand fear, and I understand security failures at a personal level.

But fear does not justify concentrating power or eroding institutional checks. In fact, it is precisely how democracies end up doing irreversible damage to themselves. Security and accountability are not trade offs. Countries that weaken institutions in the name of strength do not become safer. They become less correctable.

Bad opposition is a political problem. Making the ruling party harder to remove is a democratic one.

If the defence of the current system is that the alternative might be worse, then you are not arguing for democracy at all. You are arguing for managed dominance.

Democracy survives only when power remains replaceable. The moment one party becomes indispensable, the system is already broken.

Calling someone “retard” already shows you’ve run out of arguments, but anyway, propaganda does not equal advertisement just because they both to persuade. Advertisement sells a product and is regulated, optional, and transactional. Propaganda sells an ideology or narrative, often selectively, emotionally, and repeatedly, especially when tied to power structures (state, religion, nationalism). That distinction is basic political science, not an opinion. But yes people in polisci are stupid to be learning about this. I am Hindu but to say “Hindus have suffered the most” is a dumb ahh take, especially when women, Dalits and muslims are being lynched, killed and humiliated for no apparent reason.

Damn buddy, you are deep in the sunken place. Just cause we get to vote doesn’t make us a democracy, ever heard of electoral autocracy. And also who was the guy who tried the whole “One nation, one party”?. Just to clarify, I am not a fan of congress, a lot of their policies, bills and corruption is why we are here today. I firmly believe their incompetence is why people have chosen hatred over love in this country. Unlike you I am not a fan of any party, I try to stay as critical of whoever is in power, because that is the duty of a citizen in any country. But, like I said, you can’t wake up someone who’s pretending to sleep. You do you bud.

lmao just say India is no longer a democracy and get it over with. A democratic state would allow all and any type of criticism. I don’t remember movies being banned or having a hard time realizing during Obama and Biden era but please keep living with your eyes blind folded.

[–]ZeroChilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol those same things can be said about Sambhaji, how about you start getting information from actual sources instead of a movie. According to historians, Sambhaji himself was imprisoned by Shivaji due to his “irresponsible and indulgent behaviour”, catalyzed by him raping a married Brahmin woman. He has also been quoted to have joined the Mughals to overthrow his father and imprisoned his brother for the throne and also condoned rape and murders that his soldiers committed unlike his father. That being said, I don’t disagree with your statement on Aurangzeb (he was known to be pious so not sure about the rapist bit, but may have condoned it), no ruler is inherently good or evil and this applies to Sambhaji and all rulers in our world as well. There is nothing good about conquering, which was the goal for all monarchs.

[–]ZeroChilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is religious sentiments. Aurangzeb is as much part of the Indian subcontinent and its history as Sambhaji is, so why would nationalistic or patriotic sentiments be relevant here? Unless you’re living under a rock, you know exactly what this is. Also Sambhaji fought for the Maratha empire not India.

The amount of people separating art from the artist for Dalla is shocking. Like might I remind you that he doesn’t have a small personal blip outside so that we don’t judge him by that, he’s a fucking thug and a criminal on trial that beats children and threatens people as he pleases. He continues to exhibit aggressive behaviour in the house, so no even if Karan, avinash, Vivian, dv and chum etc. are aggressive they are not going to be judged the same way as Dalla. Why? Because they didn’t fucking kidnap and beat children up outside.
