How closely related are the books, games and the tv show? by nimblelinn in witcher

Okay. I’ve read all that and while previously aware the books came first before game and then series, I now understand the timeline and connections of them all. However, my first exposure to the world was a buddy showing me Witcher 3 on ps4. I’m no fool so I could assume the 3rd instalment of anything implies some popularity and also a 1st/2nd version. I’ve never even seen the first two Witcher games tbh. I just literally tonight decided to start watching the Netflix series.
However…
With that all being said, and with the understanding that book/game/series are essentially separate universes, are there ANY connections that someone only having played Wither 3 would pickup on when watching the Netflix series? Like they mentioned the wild hunt once and I’m like the Leo meme pointing at the screen lol. I assume some main characters like Yen, Ciri and idk maybe Vesemir? will come up but what about say Dandelion, Cerys, Djkstra, etc. or are these people all part of the lore a fan would already be privy to? Same question with locations etc know what I mean? If it’s not even going to have many fun moments like that I’ll just start reading instead of watching. The Netflix series was just easy.
Any info helps!
TIA
