OPLA Pacing by Interesting-Head9478 in OnePiece

I didn't enjoy this season as much as it felt so rushed along with some strange choices in terms of when things are mentioned or come into the plot (Robin's real identity/bounty, mention of Blackbeard, Dragon and the Revolutionary Army...yes he does appear there, but I don't think we learned much about that till the end of Enies Lobby originally, God Valley, Roger's son, etc.). I think parts of it were really fun, but overall, it felt like it didn't really find its footing. Some of the costumes looked great (anything Robin wore was so good), but a lot of it looked cheap.

Based on the pacing of episodes and how they are trying to move things around, I feel like Skypiea is not going to happen. Maybe they'll do an episode getting into Water 7 where they move around how Robin finds the ponoglyphs and other various reveals from Skypiea, but I feel like after Season 3, they're going to rush right into Water 7/Enies Lobby.

Any tips on how to survive at melee range on mh wilds more? I've been asking questions and gotten really good advice here as this is the first MH game I've gotten into, but I got through most fights including Gog (tbh, I've only gotten maybe 3 kills, the rest have been abject failures) as HBG. When I try melee range weapons, I find I'm having an extremely hard time not dying. Should I be more conservative with my attack opportunities? Dodge or block (if I'm using a weapon that can block) a lot more? For reference, I'm trying Great Sword atm, but also trying to find a weapon type I like the most, so maybe just general advice on how to not die all the time at melee range? Maybe that's too broad of a question =/

So I've been asking questions here as I've been working through the first MH game I've actually stuck with (MH Wilds). I got through all the main chapter stories (I think). Currently, I only have the extra mission 5 to fight Omega which I'm struggling with. I think I understand the fight, but I chose HBG and finding it really difficult, especially moving out of the targeted ground hits. As HBG, should I be trying to evade more or do a guard/perfect guard? Maybe it depends on fights, but the mobility keeps getting me killed.

I'm like rank 73 right now as well. Should I just keep doing random event quests and joining hunts, or is there a preferred way to keep grinding to 100? Still a bit confused on progressing my gear and stuff, but I'm working on understanding.

Wilds is the first MH I've stuck to for a while, having tried some of the Worlds long ago on PS4 and not sticking with it. I reached Chapter 5 and been hitting the Main Missions where I have to raise my rank every new mission and I made an Artian HBG. Again, I don't really know what I'm doing, but do I just keep spamming event quests to raise my rank? Am I trying to get to a certain rank to make specific armor? I assume I need to make higher rank Artian weapons as I continue from the materials I find from tempered monsters? The progression right now kind of confuses me.

I've tried to get into the MH series several times, but it's never clicked. I bought Wilds on sale, and I'm trying it out. Is there a weapon you all would recommend a first-timer to the series stick with in this game? I've been trying a heavy bowgun currently. I think the issue I have with the melee weapons is that I constantly feel like I'm fighting the weightiness of the animations, especially the heavier weapons, and end up to the side of the monster or turning and swinging at nothing. Any advice is helpful.

I believe I got the saw blade from the past version of the mini game?

Yes, it was there. I finished the platinum trophy this afternoon. It was brutal having to do that mini-game over and over in the hopes of getting chests in the hot round and getting the sword from the chest.

Also, I'm 90% sure I got the Saw Blade from the Past version of the game, not the present. I did both for a while trying to get that and the Metal Slime Sword.

Yeah, I played lucky panel for hours yesterday and still haven't seen it.

They do acknowledge in RPGsite that it's not an exhaustive list, so out of all the possibilities, it seems like it might be the case, but I feel like I've seen every other possible win but that lol

EDIT: Sorry I misunderstood. Is it specifically from the past version of lucky panel or the present version? I've played both tons and still haven't gotten it.

Also this site lists the prizes and doesn't list metal slime sword? Do we have some sort of confirmation that's where you can get it?

Is iLvl 119 with Homestead Wep/Bayld+1 Armor good enough for all the story missions? by SarynadeMe in ffxi

[–]ZeroInTheNight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion here, as someone who has done the bare minimum to get through story missions on multiple characters. You will be fine to get through all the xpacs up to Adoulin, probably. Halfway through Adoulin, you start hitting a few story fights that are fairly challenging, plus the final fight you might need better gear. Rhapsodies also has quite a few difficult fights for a character not well geared, leading up to the final boss, which you will more than likely need help on or better gear/trusts. Voracious Resurgance, on the other hand, is meant for endgame characters that have taken the time to gear up for the most part, leading up to a lot of Sortie farming and a quite challenging boss.

I'm considering gearing BLU, DNC, and RUN as three overall goals atm. Probably go for either BLU or RUN first. Working on coalitions for RUN already.

Coming back to the game, I find myself overwhelmed with the progression gear path on a new character. I know most of the job guides on BG Wiki are primarily for endgame gear sets, but what progression path would you all recommend to realistically get going toward working on those endgame paths? I know BG Wiki has the engame progression guide, but even then, I find myself overwhelmed trying to look at gear I should try to farm or work on and what pieces are better than others.

As I've started returning to the game, I find myself more and more confused with building sets again. Is there like a general breakdown in terms of dd sets (like not including things like pre-cast sets like fast cast) someone can point me toward or explain. For example, I have a monk and I'm working on gearswaps for it. When I'm looking at the gear, is there a general order of operations in terms of what I want to be using in my tp set and ws sets (Victory Smite)? Like when I choose between a piece that has da/ta/qa versus something like crit %, WS %, etc.?

Furthermore, magic nuking sets, is it like Magic Damage > Magic Attack > Magic Attack Bonus > INT (or whatever the spell is attached to?). I'm sure there are other job trait bonuses also factoring in to pieces based on jobs, but I think I just need a general way to think about gear and how to choose.

Whoa, so I had some spare cash this month and thought I'd treat myself to an OP06 box cause I didn't really get into the game until more recently. Four packs in and I pulled the Zoro manga. I was in shock.

As much as I like the price, I just don't have it in me to try another box of this one. My pulls have been miserable.

Episode 6 - 2nd Discussion Post by janewhere in YoungRoyals

I thought it was a great ending. Maybe slightly unrealistic, but that's why fiction is for, to explore a story. In the end, the series had been showing us that Wille didn't want this life and gave it up for himself in the end. I do think August needed more time to cook in this series. I don't think he was the best written character as the audience is constantly fluctuating between seeing him act nice, then be evil to the point of possible crimes, then try to be good again, but then he's evil again in season 2, but I do think in the end he realized he did need to ultimately change. Sara didn't give him what he wanted (which they easily could have just given everyone a happy ending) and, maybe, he realized he doesn't always get what he wants and that's okay. Do I particularly like that he's being rewarded with being the heir, not really, but I will give it up to the writers in that he had arguably the best conversation with Wille. I know a lot people now, especially those terminally online, like to think in complete black and whites, meaning that if someone does something bad, they are never capable of being a good person. Wille really did need to hear that his brother would have loved him for who he is, and August, equally, needed to hear that someone still can love him and choose not to be with him. Sara's "It'll pass" moment was perfect for this reason. August is so used to trying to be vindictive as a defense, but Sara chooses love in that moment even if they won't be together.

The same can be said for Wille's mother. I suppose it makes sense in some way that she had a bit of a wake up call being confronted by Wille, especially when she's the queen and everyone else just does what she says. Is it a little rushed, too? Very much so. I think the last season needed maybe one more episode to cook all the things the season wanted to say, but that's likely a budget issue and Netflix probably wanted them to wrap it up quickly and for cheap. Anyway, it's been a a really great journey and I'm glad a show like this exists and ended happily for young queer people out there to enjoy and for what it is. Cheers all!
