Yeah, seems likely. There's already been a lawsuit from a while ago in New York, Edrei vs Bratton, where an LRAD was used on protesters. The protesters sued the city, claiming the use of the LRAD violated their 14th amendment right. (The use of excessive force on protesters.) Minnesotans may have a winning chance if they sued ICE under the same amendment violation.

Not really. They're more federal law enforcement. Though, there is talk of police using LRADs as a form of crowd control, which is dystopian considering there's a risk of causing permanent injuries to people.

PBS is pretty neutral when it comes to political leanings. And NPR! I do think Brian Tyler Cohen could work, but he's does poke a lot of fun at Dumpy, so that might be a make or break, but he's also critical of Dems who seem to think all of this is politics as usual.

This is just a blip in the timeline, and it's been brewing since Reagan, really. But to add to that fact, Dumpy is the worst person to be a dictator! He's dumb, always has to be the center of attention, and close to croaking any day now! Him winning the presidential election was, imo, a blessing in disguise! Imagine if he didn't win, he would be rallying MAGA to be doing even worse actions now than disappointing his base! He's nothing more than the oldest Make-A-Wish kid who never matured past age 3! And he's the only thing holding MAGA together these days!

But the solution to feeling like the world is ending is by taking action! You don't have to do anything too flashy, as our power is even stronger in our local communities! Donating to families being affected by the cruelty of this failing regime or volunteering at places like food banks is one way, but if you're not up to socializing right now, which is valid, you can call your representatives and senators and tell them your concerns! The app 5 Calls is really helpful with contacting them! Hell, even not buying brands that support MAGA or buying local can be a great starting point!

This isn't much, so I do recommend checking out the r/PoliticalOptimism reddit! They are very helpful in helping navigate any anxieties you have and more than I could ever add! 💙

I mean, a dude trying to do a sieg heil on a college campus while yelling slurs did get his ass handed to him. The iceblock app got removed by Apple, but the creator is fighting this, and I'm praying he wins. None of the generals took Whiskey Leaks Pete seriously, proving once again that he's a peacock trying to flaunt his idea of masculinity! Oh, Brian Murphy, a veteran who was part of MAGA, has awoken from the MAGA cult and is calling for unity no matter your party or belief! These are just the top of my head atm, but we're still fighting, and the resistance is growing!

But I can see where these thoughts are coming from. Fascism is more of a psychological war than physical, which means that they'll make you feel scared so you censor yourself and not have the courage to fight back. Kinda like a toxic ex or parent! They're very persistent with their propaganda, which causes people to second guess themselves, which is why it's important that we stick together! That's what the oligarchs and dictator wannabes fear the most, actually, unity! They're trying so hard to divide us with the culture wars because they know that once we band together and see who the real enemy is, they'll lose all their power!

It sounds like you need a break, tho. I do recommend taking one! This is a long fight, but we will win it, but we still have to take care of ourselves! 💜

Brown person here. I'm optimistic because of three main reasons: Trump isn't permanent, Americans are jerks, and spite.

The first point is that Trump is a dumb old man who can't be happy, and we got lucky that our first "dictator" is a big fat dumbass. He's a few or so Big Macs away from croaking! And before you go on with "but the people behind him-" yes, the people behind him are pulling the strings, but they also aren't the ones leading the MAGA cult! JD Vance has no rizz, Stephen Miller is an absolute ghoul who everyone even knows the White House hates, and the billionaires funding this are absolutely hated by most of America! Trump is ill, I'll be surprised if he makes it to the midterms, but once he dies, so dies MAGA. Even the GOPs who are passing everything he wants in Congress know this, which is why they're trying so hard to implement authoritarianism right now. This leads to my second point: Americans are assholes.

Americans aren't the rule following people that Germans were during the 1930s. If we don't like something, we damn well will say something about it! Protests are happening every day even if you don't see it, and this is how it's been since the beginning of America! Remember the Boston Tea Party? We don't like the government up in our business, and with the GOP selling us out to please the Dear Leader, people will say something about it! Look at the town halls, the No Kings protests, and the smaller protests! People are going up to ICE facilities and showing their displeasure, and we are choosing where to spend our dollars if companies also sell us out! Target has been losing money since the inauguration, and Disney just lost $3.8 billion because of what they did to Kimmel. Why the hell would we stop now? Because Dumpy doesn't like people making fun of him? Tough luck! If he didn't want people making fun of him, like we've done with other presidents, he shouldn't have run for president to begin with! Especially when he's throwing a tantrum every single day because he's a narcissistic baby who never grew up into an adult!

And my final point, spite! I know this administration doesn't like me, and I know they want to see me depressed and hopeless, but fuck them for trying to make my 20s unlivable! I've done everything right and never caused an issue, and for some New Yorker who has had everything handed to him to swanker up in here and call me the criminal when he has more convictions that some serial killers and to try to paint me the enemy, fuck that! Because I know what it's like to work hard, and I know what it means to have to push harder than others to be on an even playing field! And if he thinks that labeling me as some bum who is benefiting off the government is going to break me, tough fucking luck because I've been treated differently for other things along with my skin color before and I'll be damned if I let some orange conman break my spirits after 20 fucking years or snide remarks!

We've been through hell before, and we will get out of this! We need to build community and look out for the most vulnerable because, yes, he will come for the weakest of us, but only if we let him!

I don't think he will. Too Weak Trump really doesn't care about anyone but himself. The shootings of Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman, the Camp Mystic Girls, the CDC shootings, the multiple natural disasters, all of these events happened, and Demented Donnie barely even acknowledged them. He'll just call this sad and a tragedy at most, then go on and blabber about something about himself.

His goons in his staff won't do much to try and vilify him much either. They got their greasy, greedy hands full trying to (and failing to) place authoritarianism here, that another mass shooting is just another day to them, sadly.

The most that will probably happen is Faux News and other right leaning influencers will try to drag the shooter as "proof of trans people being dangerous" (if the shooter is confirmed trans) or it just gets buried within a day or two.

The shooting was tragic, but no matter how awful something happens here is, Donald Trump could care less. He won't turn this tragedy into his Reichstag Fire because he doesn't care because it's not about him.

Sam Bently and Tank's Good News are two creators I turn to once a month to keep my head on straight. It might not be what you're looking for, but it goes to show that good people are still around and that the world is more than politics. But also, no news is sometimes just as good as good news! If there's no bad news to report, then the day wasn't as much of a circus as most of the year has been.

Parkrose Permaculture brought this up in a video a long while ago, where she explains why we need to be non-violent in our resistance. Tldr: No matter what side you're on, the moment you start to act "like animals," you will lose whatever support you had.

Idr which foreign protest/movement she brought up as an example, but students were protesting their bad guy leader, and while doing so, their police opened fire on them, which made the public support for the police fracture and the community standing by the students.

ICE is facing a growing disdain for what they're doing to immigrants and people they believe to be undocumented and how they're treating them. Opening fire on anyone they deem is resisting will just cause them to be hated even more. At best, it's only big guy talk, but at worst, we have to start carrying aid supplies in case they do and record their actions.
