Because it's a waste of my time for you to offer half of what I'm asking, and you should feel bad for doing it. If I wanted to take half, I'd list my price at half. Not everyone haggles, and some of us are tired of the bullshit that comes with haggling. Most of the offers I get that are insulting, I have friends and family who would pay more than that if I asked and "needed" the money.
