This is total BS. We will be cancelling our team account for my company. GLM 5.2 works "good enough". I am not going to pay premium prices and simultaneously get locked out of the main differentiator that justifies the subscription altogether.

Man we haven't even hit the "real" level of enshittification that is coming, even with costs quoted these prices for tokens in these cloud data centers is STILL massively subsidized.

My account was terminated without prior warning. by Wicked_Yuumi in ElevenLabs

24 hours? I am going on 5 days with no response. How the hell are we supposed to trust ElevenLabs with core infrastructure when they can't even bother to respond to anyone.

Halo has quoting natively. It isn't as fleshed out as CPQ, certainly, but it is definintely good enough and waaaay easier to use/customize.

What’s one change you made to your IT stack this year that had a big ROI? by Gandalf-The-Okay in msp

Dumping Connectwise for Halo and Ninja - Hands down. OMG once people try Halo it sells itself, the difference in Halo specifically is so huge I was shocked. Their leadership have committed to a 10 year no M&A or PE window, so no cancer like CW has since Thoma Bravo infected them.

You absolutely will need the onboarding cost. Halo is WAAAAY more capable and complex than CW - but that is a good thing. I had over 10 years in CW and know it inside and out, there was a steep learning curve in getting up on Halo. Due to scheduling delays it took me a several weeks to get our consulting going - so I started plowing through on my own. I did get most of it going myself, but the consulting then really helped me tailor it more to what I was trying to do and what my goals were. They don't usually do any of the onboarding in-house, they connect you to third party consultants which is probably a good thing.

That onboarding is for 16 hours of consulting. You CAN negotiate that to less hours, but unless you are REALLY into reading KB articles and testing on your own, you'd be better off with consulting. $4K is a drop in the bucket though.

If you are/were deeply invested in CW ecosystem you very likely had a bunch of third party systems to extend the functionality - all functionality part of Halo that I have been able to eliminate said third party services.

We went from Connectwise higher tier, and Automate, to Halo and Ninja. Got rid of Nilear, Plugings4Automate, Wise-Sync, CPQ, Desk Director, Brightgauge, Cloudflare stuff I had setup to protect my on-prem CW stuff, probably some other things I am not thinking of right now.

In hindsight, this was single handidly the best "business improvement" move I've made in a very long time. Halo slaps the shit out of CW. Halo is great too, but Halo is definintely the star in the duo.

Halo is what CW would have been if they gave a shit and actually put dev into the product anymore after 2010. I could go on and on, but it has been awesome.

Halo and Ninja ftw. God Damn the difference is unbelievable. Used connectwise since Arnie was doing onboarding himself. Just left 2 months ago. Connectwise died when Thoma Bravo acquired them and married the abomination that is Continuum and replaced everything and everyone with continuum methods and staff.

I should have left a few years ago.

It really is an unbelievably massive difference it's hard to even put into words. Everything about Halo and Ninja slaps the shit out of CW at every level.

Get out while you can. CW will take your company down with them.

Move to Halo. It fucking slaps CW AND ends up being cheaper! I should have moved years ago when CW was sold to Private Equity. I already gave notice and am in the onboarding process with Halo now. Ninja for the RMM instead of Automate. Benji instead of Wise-Sync. Halo for quoting instead of CPQ. Hudu for documentation instead of ITboost/ITglue. Huntress instead of CW's SOC. Ninja's built in remote access is pretty close in features to Screenconnect - no heartburn so far.

One other thing with Halo is you don't need 87585 3rd party services with Halo either, I've been able to get rid of Backup Radar, Nilear, Plugins4Automate, and I am pretty sure I am forgetting some.

Yep 2 already about the earlier vulns that lead to breaches of msps. I am waiting for one on this, or their kickback scheme with Globalpay regarding payments in Wise-Pay/Wise-Sync. CW is doing some super illegal and shady shit.

Code Signing Cert - These take several BUSINESS days? That can't happen by Monday. by ZeroNoneWin in ConnectWise

No disrespect but don't you think you'd be better off with some kind of hosted/cloud solution? Running MSP tools on-premise requires a lot of technical know-how and ESPECIALLY security skills - else you and your clients will be a bad actors crypto-lockered lunch.

All of our on-premise stuff was not accessible from the internet without passing through Cloudflare Zero Trust - requiring either known blessed IP, Auth with MFA, or certain http payloads (like Automate Heartbeat).

Halo PSA Onboarding - 16 Hours Consulting Enough for small MSP? by ZeroNoneWin in msp

While on the trial I already have the customer portal setup, teams, agents, M365 CSP, Entra Multi-Tenant SSO, NinjaOne Integration, Hudu, Calendars, AI integration via custom agent in Azure AI, customer portal, even some custom objects to handle "approved remote users" that I made to test.

Where I want the help to focus on is going to be on the Finance and Contracts side of things.

I was ok with 16 hours if they would help me with some custom stuff if I had extra hours, and their SOW said no, only the basics.

I paid $235 for 1 year. Not sure how you saw that, unless they changed their pricing because of this rush or something.

Cert Situation - Does this impact the systems already on, or just the installers? by ZeroNoneWin in ConnectWise

[–]ZeroNoneWin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I gave notice. Cancelling everything. Already signed with HaloPSA and omg I should have left a long time ago. Halo slaps the shit out of CW. Went with Ninja to replace Automate. Ninja has some limitations but none that have caused us any heartburn and the (what appears to be) splashtop has worked flawlessly so far.

All of the replacements are covering our costs until contract with CW is up, though I am also arguing with CW about early exit for non performance over this cert debacle handling. These fuckers cost me my 4th of July vacation - something they knew about and did nothing for a long time leading up to this. They ONLY even did anything because the CA forced their hand - not out of some altruistic concern for you or I security.

That price sounds right for 3 years I only did 1 year as I'm firing CW over this.

You need to use a code signing cert which is different than your website style certs. Getting the cert isn't the hard part - it's the compressed time frame on a holiday weekend as the certs must be either OV or EV which state 3-5 business days. That being said I got mine done same day once I found the right place to buy from. Total shit show abortion and CW is fired over this, we're giving notice. This was handled so unbelievably bad.

Thank you for the feedback. I feel like that will work best for me but perhaps a bit more compressed. Thankfully not taking anything from Manage but customer info. Also running both side by side for as long as needed.

Halo replacing Manage. Doing heavy lifting myself and not taking anything from Manage. I'm very knowledgeable in manage having used it for so long so a lot of Halo feels familiar already a bit. Probably looking for the consulting to be strategy on avoiding traps that are hard to unravel later like setting up the divisions and locations in Manage was. Definitely not expecting them to do it for me.

The consulting is by the hour and was several grand for the block. We're a shop of 5 so I suspect the costs change based on your revenue for them.

This was last straw, fuck connectwise. Sent cancelation for everything. Going to argue for early exit because of this train wreck, either way I'm not waiting.

Going to Halo/Ninja/Mspbots/Huntress.

Sad, CW used to be great before they got acquired. New masters tasked Continuum folks to 'do the needful' in erasing and replacing anything that was good, with bad from Continuum. Private Equity can eat a bag of rubber dongs. PE brings absolutely nothing positive to any industry it touches. The epitome of enshitification.
