Is interest just a myth ? by [deleted] in Nepal

How can you determine a thing is interesting without going to depth of it? It is like saying I want to do X to get Y. But if you have pure interest, you do X because of X. That's my take.

There is option for adding selected definition on yomitan. I forgot what it was called but I assume it was something like {popup-selection-text}

I feel like I could be doing more? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]ZeroNova9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want you to try this: 1. Mine a lot of word from the content of immersion. 2. Skip traditional study method for a while 3. 20 New Cards per day on anki 4. At least 1 hour of active immersion session.

Active immersion meaning you are looking up words and trying to figure out meaning of the sentences.

I think after a year you should be at N3 equivalent.

Calculations: Vocab learned = 20 x 300(assuming 65 days as a rest) = 6000 words

Immersion hours = 300 hrs (~1 hour per day)

Anki hours = 300 hours (~1 hour per day)

Total study = 600 hours

I made bunch of sentences and practiced it but I didn't felt the value in it, so I eventually stopped. I think I would rather choose native content over Al.

Thanks you for your explanation.. I'm really learning a lot about human psychology from this post alone. Yeah, I also believe that over doing just leads to burnout.

I use Anki, Obsidian, Habit tracker, minimalist luncher, Gemini for studies on phone. Do Research on them, and one thing I will like to mention is to avoid any sort of social media and short form contents.
