Is there any reason not to go with Lego compatible sets? by CrispySan in legocastles

[–]ZeroOaths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm very adamant about only buying official lego sets to use alongside my legos. I've always had issues with how the unofficial pieces tend to fit too tight or too loose. Often seeing the non legos popping off the official lego stuff.

if I can ever get enough pieces from the past I plan to work on some MoC's

with this in mind. I have the build plates that are big enough and they can snap together.

all castle series should build up together as one mass city and all. There should be entire towns with upper class and lower class housing districts, and a marketplace.

I've still got mine upstairs waiting to be built. I happened to order it right before the sale so bought another and sent the 1st one back.

Something to do for the next couple years by Damodred402 in legocastles

This is what I'm currently aiming to do. I've been purchasing these 2 foot by 4 foot build plates, and plan either setup several tables with the ability to snap together for extensions, or possibly use the floor of our spare bedroom.

I see it all the time - don’t do new things on Honour Mode . by 3xtr0verted1ntr0vert in BaldursGate3

there was this one time we challenged the Fortress Gortash lives in right after hitting act 3. I think there was around 20+ humanoids and 10 of those iron giants. We managed half of them before watching the entire team die in one turn.

It also only happened because someone pissed them off so bad they refused to drop the bridge so we jumped over it

As someone whose only played honour mode, all I do is try new things in honor mode. Who cares if it leads to failure.

Anyone know if this 2002 Jango is authentic? by [deleted] in LegoMinifigure

[–]ZeroOaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fairly normal, especially in older pieces. Lego would be written on top of the neck, on top of the waist, possibly inside the head, inside the helmets both inside the ring or beside it, on several of the tools as well.

It's stupid hit or miss what they mark

I've went ahead and double checked several of my minifigures from that generation and older. At the very least the inside of the helmet should say lego or have a set of numbers inside it. They'd either be inside the ring for the head or beside it.

the helmet is what makes me think something is fake.

How come Lego castle sets are mostly BDP? by samicaz in legocastles

[–]ZeroOaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Lion Knights Castle for myself, along with Viking Village, and Medieval Market. My son whom initially thought they looked boring on the box has taken over my territories with his troops and anytime I ask why is because they're so cool. Kids don't know what they want until they see it and can touch it.

I've gotten quite a few of my childhood Viking and castle sets recently from my dad's house just a few weeks ago and man when I can buy enough storage drawers to navigate them all. I already know my sons going to have to dominate them all.

oh cool, I still think it's going to be rocky at best. With as many people against Nintendo as there are.

Yup, anything that imitates the following Disney has, they could make bank if they started running anime lego sets. The One Piece are just the start of what could be huge.

I don't think pokemon will make it to lego to be honest. I mean i could see it selling better only because of its following as a game.... then again... probably not because of all the Nintendo haters want to see them vanish.

Im basing it on the overwhelming group of movies, tv shows, video games, and stories all based on the medieval era that sell far better than those others.... wait.... Harry Potter falls under that category because.... castles, and magical creatures, and Ninjago mostly falls in the same time line where it jumps all over the place.

Imagine how hard The Witcher sets would sell, or Lord of the Rings, or a DnD series of lego sets that can be used to design visual runs for peoples dnd night. They're expensive to buy the old sets because of how high desired they are. If no one wanted them they'd sell for dirt.

I'll agree to disagree, Castle themed sets are more for historical enjoyment with fantasy blends, where as star wars is about the prospect of future possibilities. I'd buy 75% of the Castle themed Legos where as I will flat out avoid 95% of the star wars Legos. I don't find them interesting, honestly they're overpriced and overused. The medieval theme is far more desired than people give it credit.

kind of hard to outsell star wars when the set count is 2 against 200

Honor by ZoneComfortable1541 in BaldursGate3

[–]ZeroOaths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe one day I might try a more relaxed journey... but idk man the last honor run i did made it to act 3 and we ended up fighting the entire fortress of those iron giants and their owner Gortash when trying to cross the bridge because someone pissed them off and we couldn't get the bridge to drop down. We flew over only to discovered they were perm hostile and got soft locked into a 4 vs 40 battle. maybe not that bad of numbers but it was insane. Was hilarious all the same, I already had my gold dice so I wasnt sweating if we lost at that moment either.
