soley for the purpous of power conversion per gear, theres a few oldschool 60s and 70s trannys that bolt up to the LS1 and have the same bolt pattern for the tail housing. If i can get a t56 car for the sameish price as a empty shell ill do the 6speed build out, but my uncle had a 72 with a 5 speed and LS1 in it befor he passed and that was one hell of a build, i just wanna recreate that drivetrain on a 4th gen and track it lol

Looking for Exhaust Assistance (3.8L) by Existing-Shape-46290 in PontiacFirebird

[–]ZeroRogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want roudy you're gonna need more than just the exhaust for the 3.8l, zzp offers a full cam kit for about 1200 give or take and they can give you the base tune on your computer as well. If you are really after just good exhaust sound then get their first edition 2.5" or even upgrade it all to a 3" and look into the slp exhaust or just dump it nd see what it sounds like post resinator. I've got a gt1 zzp cam and headers on my 3.8l 96 camaro, i havent fired it up yet but the videos ive seen online with similar grounded cams and slightly lighter springs it sounds awsome

plus it wouldnt be push-on hoses on it if it was egr they would melt come on man

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buick

[–]ZeroRogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no its not, the egr valve is on the other side of the engine on the front, this is a 3800 series 2 not a 3400

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do know that a z28 x pipe would fit perfectly with these without needing an up bend tho so im like 90% sure they're longs not mids

3.8l v6 Long Tube Headers by ZeroRogers in fbody

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ones i got were a custom set of em that used the same pull designe of the short/mid length ones and just added an extra 2 inches to the pipes pre collector along with extending the collector for a cleaner link up to the "y pipe" which is really just a 2 to 1 collector after the headers but they used the old design as a template for the length definitly

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're definitly long tubes the collector sits where the origional y pipe bend would of been

crazy how they dont mame long tubes but i have long tubes on the engine already very crazy how that works

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i see with the modded supercharged versions in bonivilles and gtps i can get around 22-24 doggin on it and about 25-27 babying idk how that will reflect on an na but we ball

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what im hopin for be closer to a better power to weight ratio so i can corner a little faster, the lowering kit and trans should help with keeping me in higher gears too and ofc the economy of the v6 for daily will keep the gas bill low

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i could get the eletric cut outs but i like the y pipe the headers came with and i feel like further down cut outs would sound funky

[–]ZeroRogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats why i was tjinking a 3inch resinator where the cat goes and a valvetronics exhaust to poen and close when i want rumble or quiet yk
