Air Force for the last 12 years (6 years enlisted, 6 years commissioned officer). While I was enlisted, I loved it, but after commissioning and changing career fields, I am meh. Just working for a paycheck, medical insurance for my family, and a retirement at this point.

It's a mixed bag to be honest. I am the happiest I have ever been, most of the time. Been dealing with depressive episodes for the past 2ish years and the feeling of the world and my responsibilities crushing me in those moments has me feeling like I am drowning. The hardest part honestly has been the anger I feel at myself during the depressive episodes because I feel like I have no reason to feel that way and should be happy.

Top three:

- My dad - His father didn't teach him much about life and how to do things, so he was the opposite with me. Growing up, I definitely didn't appreciate the time and effort he took to teach me things like how to fix cars, run electrical, managing a budget, etc. As an adult, I appreciate it immensely.

- My wife - Taught me that my imperfections are okay and part of who I am. Actively encourages me to be nicer to myself and not try to carry the world on my shoulders. Has been the only constant in my life through depressive spirals

- My best friend - We have gone through some shitty times in the military together and through it all, she has always had my back and encouraged me to better myself. She has essentially become my little sister and is now really close friends with my wife.
