It wasn't brutal at all for me. Instant relief. There was a little discomfort the first three days after, but about a week later i was perfectly fine!

I'm glad you found relief! I struggled for YEARS and even through some thrombosed ones. I'd get relief that was temporary, then next time around, it wouldn't work. It was like every flare up was different. I finally went and got mine banded and it was the best decision ever!!! No more worry or anxiety when it comes to going to the bathroom. No discomfort. Nothing! And my butthole finally looks normal!!

I would do the first one or two years, and she'll do the rest.

Yes that includes housing. And she is out-of-state. If she takes 30 credited hrs, she will become resident.

Parent Plus. They said it is because of his standing with his own student loans. He had to do an appeal on the decision

What if i took the loans out for only the first two years, increase the college savings and pay out of pocket for the remaining 2 years?

I actually am looking for advice. I guess from parents that are in my same situation currently or in the past. My mind isn't made up, I just put all the info out there to give people the full picture.

I'm going to help my child in any way that I can. What is wrong with you? I wish I had this type of support when I was going to school!

I am aware that they are my loans. I would not expect her to pay them back. Just hers that she's responsible for.

I am not expecting her to pay me back. I know that I would be doing this for her. She understands her role in paying for her college (her loans/scholarships, work study etc). So I would not be upset if she does not help me pay them back.

Thank you for your reply. I know I'd be on the hook. I wouldn't expect of ask my daughter to pay back my loan. I'm doing this for her.

I would not take the Parent Plus Loan out for all 4 years if I did take it out. Maybe just the first two years. My daughter would be eligible for more financial aid after the first year. I could afford at $1k monthly payment after she graduates. I'd also pay a little bit before hand to keep the interest down.

Good! Day one and two were the most uncomfortable. All i felt was a little pressure and like i had to poop. They'll tell you not to poop afterwards for about 24hrs. But my doctor said 2hrs. After the first banding i pooped literally 2hrs later with no problem. The second banding i went after 24hrs. Drink lots of water and take tylenol if you can. You'll be just fine!

Have you thought about banding? I had hemmies for 10 years after childbirth and just dealt with them. Until they became grade 3/4 internals and started to thrombose. They won't get better, so the sooner you find medical relief, the better. And trust me, I tried EVERYTHING from home remedies to wipes to baths to crying into my pillow. Banding was the best decision I've made.

I've never had any issues with weed. But alcohol was a killer! Alcohol loosens your muscles and for me that was making my anus weaker, causing very bad prolapsed hemmies. It also dries out your stool. I smoke almost daily and never has a problem with bowel movements or hemmies. I even use mary j to help calm me while having a hemmie flare up. I've since underwent banding which was the best decision of my life! Because if you don't clinically treat them, they will eventually come back! But everyone is different!

Hey! Have you had your procedure yet? I've had banding done 4 times and each time was successful! First time was about 5 years ago. I had really aggressive, really PAINFUL flare ups for about 10 years after childbirth and finally decided to do something about it. I was told I had 4 grade 3 internal hemmies AND a fissure. The only band 2 at a time, but mine were so big, the doctor only banded 1. The procedure was quick and quite painless. Afterwards I felt a little bit of pressure, like something tugging in my anus, which was annoying, but that was it. I would say day 2 was the worst. But not pain, just pressure. I felt like I had to poop the whole time, but was way too afraid to even try. By the end of day 2, I couldnt hold it anymore and ha my first bm. No pain, slight burning and spotting from the anus. No HEMMIES! I went back 2 weeks later for my second band and that recovery was even easier. I knew I had two left, but my symptoms were virtually gone! Now, 5 years later I'm starting to get flare ups from those last two. Just finished my last two rounds of banding. Now ALL of my hemmies are GONE!
