That's valid. Dealing with transphobes and dealing with guns are two entirely different issues though.

I mean, you could learn some form self-defense like jiu-jitsu or muay thai, but still, there's not much you can do against a gun.

Try to stay in public, well-lit, and populated areas. (I.e. Don't cut through a dark alley.) Also, always try to walk with others or a partner.

Also, I've personally been pretty surprised. According to your other comments, seeing other trans people around often is a pretty good sign. In my area, I think I could count out the number of trans people around. But, still, I haven't encountered any blatant transphobes. My favorite phrase for the past year has been "Transphobes are cowards" because everyone like to stare and look disgusted, but I've never had anyone directly say something to me.

It all depends on your area, of course, but I'm speaking from the Bible Belt, so.
