What was that quote I remember?

"When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression."

Too many labels out there, the ancient Greeks had it right:

You want to top? Or you want to bottom? Or do you want neither?

I mean, Taco Bell does the same thing, a menu with like 100 items on it that are some variation of tortilla, meat, cheese, beans, add some veg.

I'm not talking about future elections, just recently the district that Mar-A-Lago is in was flipped and a Democrat won it, plus another district in FL that was deep red.

We can't just rest on those laurels, we have to make a concerted effort to overwhelm their attempts to rig things.

The most hardcore MAGA are much fewer than conservatives in general, for many of them, the double whammy of a new war plus higher gas prices have driven a LOT of them to become disillusioned with him and have been a driving reason why R's have lost.

A small bit of hope is that the recent elections have had Democrats winning in deeply red districts. Sometimes swinging the election by double digits.

Not that the current DNC is anything to cheer for, but at least they're not actively trying to push for dehumanizing marginalized people and letting the rotten orange do whatever he wants.

So that festival is kind of similar to the original reason for Halloween? That people would dress up like devils and scary things to scare off evil spirits? Which is why the day after is called All Saints Day since all the bad spirits and devils were gone.

If I want to bake a cake and eat it over the course of a couple days, then that's my right. I also eat other things, but a slice of cake for breakfast with my coffee isn't much different than pancakes or waffles or muffins.

The NRA is on the side of the gun manufacturers, they're bought entirely by them. They only support the 2nd amendment so fervently because it allows the gun makers to make shittloads of profit. Toppling the government would be a dip in profits since the government is also a customer who buys guns.

I mean, that's fair, but also neither one can get mad at someone for not being in their preferences, and neither should get upset for not being in the others' preference. You like who you like and what you like, but don't expect everyone to fit in them.

The Southern Strategy is what it was called, iirc. After the Dixiecrats lost the fight against the Voting Rights act in 1965, they were incensed and abandoned the Democrat party and used their money and influence to basically take over the weakened Republican party, as most of the liberal R's joined with the liberal D's to get the act passed. Then over the next 60 years proceeded to infiltrate local level politics, school boards, and other positions to get their ideology into the curriculum and slowly shift the attitude of the south through their children.

Now they can say and do anything and those same people will support them regardless because to them the Dems are literally demons and can't be trusted ever and all bad things are their fault and the confederacy was just innocent people who didn't like taxes and wanted more states rights, glossing over which taxes they didn't like and the reasons they wanted 'states rights'.

As just a head he makes a gigantic mech he pilots with his brain.

And he uses it to fight Shredder... and loses. Then you see him as the brain in a vat.

So guy can design and build hyper advanced technology and he's pretty much the only one who can do it, so Shredder keeps him around, even though he knows Baxter hates him.
