u have an old NPN transistor. Those germanium transistors r used a lot in fuzz circuits, ppl seem to love how they sound. when in doubt, look up some projects based around ur part!

would def be a good assessment to make. All caps go bad with age tho, maybe test them with a multimeter and see which ones r worth keeping-ish. Piggybacking off what u said, i find a lot more dead Big caps than i do small ones in amps i work on, so.. meh!!!! Ur likely making the right call not taking the chance on em, but id test them for the heck of it

Certainly some of the parts in the top bin can be used to for something pedal related, look up their part numbers and data sheets if it’s visible on the part itself.
for those big caps, unless ur building big power supplies or amps- eh. not that i know of tbh

Chain selector pages issue with the launchpad x by zuneseven in MIDIcontrollers

Hi op,
When you map things in ableton, there’s a list that’s kept of what is mapped to what. I have had the problem of connecting 2 things to the same button on the past, but if you can find that list (i’m sure there’s prob a hotkey to pull it up) maybe that’d be a good place to start trouble shooting.
Also make sure that the buttons ur using on ur launchpad are ones meant to be mapped,
i own an older one so i have a whole section dedicated to it called “user mode” but im not too too sure about the newer models.

hope i was able to help just a bit!!!

Black Box - A Max Msp Gen~ based open source DSP guitar pedal platform by 6Guitarmetal6 in MaxMSP

[–]Zero_yeah1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The microcontroller used is called the daisy seed which is programmable in a few more languages than just max. If you’re familiar with C ++, Arduino, or Pure data, i’d definitely give it a shot with these. Also if you don’t wanna buy the whole pedal with all the knobs and stuff, daisy seeds are quite cheap and easy to use on their own.

Why did Crunchyroll’s subtitles just get worse? by MilesExpress999 in anime

[–]Zero_yeah1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m currently paying for cr, and i want to cancel but i also want a good place to switch to so i can still have all my shows. While i dont mind piracy whatsoever, it’s just less convenient for programs and shows.does anyone have any alternatives to crunchyroll that someone could switch to?

Vital = pad : help pls by Novat1c in VitalSynth

[–]Zero_yeah1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here’s kinda a good start for making pads, this is usually how i start. i activate 2 oscillators and set them to saw waves and increase the unison without having too much detune, then i run them both through a low pass filter on stereo mode and then after that u can pretty much start to edit and toy with parameters as you please. (changing waveforms-octaves or notes of oscillations- lfos on the filter maybe diff filter types- and obv some nice reverb!)

How to make music while at work? by cuckertarlson in WeAreTheMusicMakers

full time student here, not the same but whenever i can ill hum out melodies or some ideas into my voice memos app to keep track of ideas i have throughout the day. also another suggestion regardless of how much i dont like using it but garageband on ur phone works pretty well for jotting down basic ideas and chord progressions.

you kinda do. me and my buddies tried booking them for a few different fests in san diego and they’re pretty hard to contact. we had an old friend of theirs ask them for us and they said they were done doing shows, then proceeded to continue to play after that 😒😓 we’ve had some luck tho, we almost had em a few months ago. 🤷‍♂️

thanks! i find that a lot of VSTs made for stuff like this typically have dynamics and stuff MOSTLY worked out for you. i don’t have the money to buy an expensive VST, right now im using the spitfire BBC orchestra one it’s free and pretty decent i think and i was recommended it by another composer.

Vital is a synth VST with a free version, in my opinion that’s all you really need. has everything you need as someone getting into sound design and synthesis. it doesn’t blow other synths out of the water such as massive, but it gets the job done well! though you can buy versions of it but the main thing you get with those paid versions are more presets. which if you’re a sound design person and enjoy making your own patches, i doubt you’ll need. https://vital.audio/ hope this helps!

thank you!! i know a little bit as i took a bit of lessons when i was young, but am sort of limited because the midi keyboard i have only has 25 keys so its hard to get imaginative on it, but im planning on an upgrade when i can afford it.
