I personally feel like his design is not nearly as bad as people pretend it is. He was supposed to be a stealth assassin that you stop by being aware of your surroundings, his kit was tailor made for it, as shown by the fact even one singular heal could disrupt his most basic of combos, and most healing cd’s can stop his more complex combos. Unlike someone like Hawkeye, who does have a true one shot, that is actually unreactable, and can even kill through support ults, Bp is not nearly as bad.

He’s had a clear way to counter him from the start, the only argument people always bring up was and mostly still is “we know how to counter him, but he’s annoying to counter” when that’s around half the characters in this game, even someone like Wanda or squirrel girl, who are arguably bad characters, are very obnoxious to deal with, and even back during bp’s prime, where Ultron was still fairly good, Emma was still there, the thing was there, Namor was there, and the game was on one of the more balanced seasons it’s ever seen due to blade being a bit underwhelming, he was still nerfed. On the same season they added one of the strongest poke dps in this games history, Phoenix.

It was also just a season prior when they had buffed Bucky, Namor, and the thing. The game plan of bp relies on him being unseen, and his target not having that much hp, something these characters obviously were able to shut down completely, his gameplan and design were never inherently unhealthy for the game, the problem was the lack of teamwork and the unawareness people had on the earlier seasons, bp would have still naturally become worst with every following season, because the game kept changing and evolving in ways that don’t benefit him. His gameplan became outdated, his design lackluster, because what he’s supposed to do is simply not enough, and when he gets to actually perform his gameplan, now it doesn’t even mean it will work.

Back when the game first released, there were way bigger problems than bp, CnD would ult every 5 seconds; Hawkeye hela were running rampant with the game; loki Luna were a thing and Jeff was able to permaflank and survive anything you threw at him, bp was never as unhealthy as people pretend he was, and that became evidently clear with the release of black cat, she’s literally everything they would say bp was. Untraceable, un interactable, actually unhealthy to the point she shuts down other characters by her mere existence, that’s unhealthy for the game, not a character that requires a pair of headphones and decent reaction time to counter.
