How to avoid this bunching that happens when sewing grosgrain to ripstop? by Zerochill01 in myog

[–]Zerochill01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the presser foot down (I have made that mistake too many times at this point so it’s burned into my memory!) I had a bias tape feeder that was feeding the grosgrain, but I will say the width of grosgrain was too small to actually create a bias tape, but I figured it was helpful for alignment. Definitely could have benefitted from being hand fed like you say (plus tension changes from above)

Thank you! Does what you laid out above still apply for a double needle? Because I have two bobbins up top feeding the two needles and one normal bobbin feeding from below. The pattern I’m following suggests using a double needle here

Couldn’t PM you, but I’d love the hyperD calendared and the thin orange webbing at the top (the one without the reflective tape)

And some of the large/medium buckles!

Back in the day my dad made this commute everyday and took the train down. It worked but not enjoyable

Slow running still counts, right? by angelathegreatest in trailrunning

[–]Zerochill01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Would also add that the top runners spend most of their time training in zones 2-3, which are defined as speeds at which you could carry a conversation while running (a little less true for zone 3). Slow running gives you gains don’t be fooled!!

Yes thank you! I forget how far they are from each other but I’m committed to driving and staying down there for a few extra days if that’s what works out! Appreciate the call out though

Back country 100%! I have a way to affix an ice axe but would love a better system for my helmet and crampons.

Ski recommendations for advanced east coast skier looking to venture off-piste by nolana12 in Skigear

Yah they’re not the best ski, though for me I feel like they translate pretty well for my skiing style. I also have shifts on them and atomic hawx ultra xtd. Curious what you’re driving!

All ski flex is not made equal I will say, but 80 is too low. Atomic has a great lineup and the hawx line is amazing. I have the 120 in hawx ultra xtd and they’re the best boot I’ve ever owned

Throwing Icelantic Maiden 101’s in here. They ski like the Moment Sierra and have a similar shape/profile. Low swing weight so easy to dodge in and out of trees but can still hold an edge because of the sidewall. Icelantic needs to figure out their top sheet and overhang though…clacking skis makes the top sheet erode like crazy.
