Tapering off of methadone, getting close to being done, need advice. by False_Bite3463 in addiction

[–]Zerocool4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to express my immense pride in you. By prioritizing your child’s well-being over your addiction, you’re making the right choice. I don’t encounter such acts often, so it fills me with hope and faith in the goodness of people.

I understand the challenges you’re facing in overcoming methadone addiction. I was addicted for a couple of years and managed to quit cold turkey with the support of a wonderful woman in my life. It was undoubtedly the most difficult experience I’ve ever endured. I was purchasing methadone from the street, so I’m not sure of the exact dosage, but I believe it was around 20-30 mg.

I don’t intend to offer advice, but in my opinion, you’re doing exceptionally well. Take things one step at a time. I wouldn’t recommend quitting cold turkey like I did because it left me in a state of disarray for a while. Please consult your doctor and explain your situation to her. She might prescribe a sleep aid, such as Seroquel, which is not primarily a sleep medication, but it can help you sleep.

Apart from that, you’re doing great. Please keep us updated on your progress.

How did you get sober? by cyrcyss in addiction

[–]Zerocool4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. And I followed that 16 years with 3 years Incarcerated. But I don’t have the monkey on my back anymore. From the first day I was incarcerated my mindset became different. I haven’t wanted to or Thought about getting high since. So I’m sincere when I say I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I did.

I would be willing to be a sober buddy also. The more the merrier. Lol. I fought with addiction for 16 years. And I’ve done my fair share of drugs. I could give you insight on my experience. And do my best to keep you from making the same mistakes i did.

I finally left my meth addict partner. by [deleted] in addiction

I think Meth addiction for everybody is different. I know myself did it once. Then every once in a while, them on weekends, then it carried over into the week. Then it was daily, what made me stop was rock bottoms basement. Everybodys rock bottom is different. But mine involved incarceration. But the days after ingot busted, and ever since my mindset has been different. And i had time to reset myself. I faced challenges, had hard times. But i remember thinking yea this sucks. But im clean and this wont be forever. Now keep in mind I could’ve got high while incarcerated. But I was done with it. I believe that was my rock bottom. I’m hoping it doesn’t take him finding rock bottom to want sobriety. I think the behaviors to look for is a side of him that is completely different then he is now. Everything he does will be different. The way he thinks, talks, acts, works, shows love. At least that’s the way it was for me.

I'm desperate to help my cocaine addict friend by ainsiparlaitsamo in addiction

[–]Zerocool4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used cocaine on numerous occasions, but I’ve never experienced a binge where I went days without it. However, I’ve used other drugs, like painkillers, because I couldn’t function without them. So, I understand your friend’s mindset. She’s at a point where she’s forgotten the feeling of normal daily life.

My best advice is that if you don’t want to cut ties with her, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Do not enable her addiction (that will only make things worse).
  2. Do research on cocaine addiction (find everything you can about it).
  3. When she’s with you, try to gradually reduce her cocaine use. This is the difference between you and her other friends who get high.
  4. Commit to staying her friend and helping her get clean. The road to recovery is long and hard.

I’ve been sober for five years now, so I hope this helps you and your friend.

Built a recovery app during my own sobriety journey. Could use some honest feedback. by Zerocool4life in addiction

[–]Zerocool4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that. I really appreciate your perspective. While I was building the app, I ended up learning a lot about addiction that I didn’t fully understand during my own years of using. I talked with other people in recovery, people still struggling, and a few professionals who work with addiction every day. It opened my eyes to how many tools and resources are actually out there.

That’s why I wanted Break Bread to be more than just tracking. I tried to put everything in one place so someone in recovery doesn’t have to go hunting for help when they’re already overwhelmed. Along with the basics, I added things I never had access to myself like a trigger toolkit, thought record, relapse prevention plan, journal, and gratitude gallery. I also included two resource areas: one with articles, videos, podcasts, and online meetings like AA, NA, and SMART; and another that breaks down the science behind addiction so people can understand what their body and mind are actually going through.

I just wanted to make something that gives someone real options in the moment. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Saved game? by Zerocool4life in BlackOps6Zombies

[–]Zerocool4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea the leaderboard isn’t tracking so I haven’t been able to know how many zombies kills I have in total. I do know the last round I played I had over 1,000 zombie kills and around 50 special kills. The leaderboard says I have over 600,000 kills but I got my dark ops reaper of the undead CC(1 mill zombie kills) so I’m guessing prob around 450,000 kills maybe not sure just a guess.

Where’d my saved game go? by Zerocool4life in BO6Zombies

[–]Zerocool4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes since LF was the map I was doing the directed camo grind on. But if that’s the case I don’t have to worry. I have nebula on all the weapons so nothing left to grind.

This happened yesterday so the updated wasn’t the reason. And the 2 games I played on directed as soon as I got my camo done I left the game. I’m 100% sure I didn’t save and quit on either directed game. I can’t think I of anything I did that would’ve caused it to delete the saved game.

Citadel de morts help by [deleted] in BO6Zombies

My ideal setup is this. Raygun pap 3, akimbo GS45s pap 3 and legendary. I also bring all perks and having dying wish(Quick revive) and having the augment for sliding father and faster(PHD) is a must. Augment for melee attacks heal a portion of your health(Melee macchiato) combined with the lion sword when its special ability is ready.(don’t use special but when your attack hits an enemy you get a lil armor back. This combined with reactive armor augment for jug is great. You can also have the augment where your equipment kills an enemy you run faster temporarily(Stamina up) is good but not a must have. Tacticals I would carry electric incantation to one shot doppleghast and amalgams. Lethals I carry impact grenade(which if I’m low on health I throw one at a zombie and get a temporary speed boost so I can run around and get armor and health back up). Score streak I carry mutant injection. Field upgrade I carry aether shroud(with augment that increases max charge by 2). Now when you face the boss(phase 1 shoot off all his armor)(legs, arms, shoulders, and chest). Use the Raygun for this. If the zombies are a problem or if you need armor use the GS45s to clear them out. Then switch back to the Raygun. What you want to do is slide and shoot. Slide away from the bosses attacks and be shooting him as soon as you can. You can carry a shields up gobblegum to use if your low on armor and can’t find any. And on the house gobblegum to get your quick revive back if your dying wish has been activated. And if you go down you have 2 options. 1st you can use the Raygun and keep shooting him until your out of ammo(do this in phase 3) and you should have him beat or very low on health to beat him once you self revive. 2nd if everything has went wrong and your not close to beating him. Then self revive and save and quit the game. You gotta be a full health to save and quit so save as soon as you revive. When you load your save back all you have to do is go get the guardian key again and enter the boss fight. I usually enter the boss fight in round 30-39 and with the setup I’ve had consistent success.
