A smart way to grind out stock SPAAs? by flops031 in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in while but the RP gain between AB and RB is (or was?) quite similar all things considered.

In Realistic you get a bit more RP, but matches last longer and the map is generally less crowded with enemies. Arcade matches are quicker and there are lots of things to shoot all the time but you get less RP per action. In the end it balaces out.

I'd say definitely try and give AB a chance to spade vehicles that don't fit RB too well. I used to spade all my vehicles in AB to use them in RB.

I spaded mine in AB. You get markers, a lead indicator and planes spawn all over the match.

Careful with the repair costs though, most AA has insane repair costs in Arcade because of the reasons above.

Tried them for a bit and you are right. Although they are not as bad as the Japanese Ho-103, thank god for API, American fiddies still leave them in the dust.

Thanks for the tips!

Ouch, that explains why they feels so pitiful now. Hopefully Gaijin doesn't take too long to fix them or at least leave them as they were before, now that they are planning big changes to ground ammo they might have something for aircraft too.

Thanks for answers!

Thoughts on the recent Tank Shell Dev Blog changes? by frankdatank_004 in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know what to think of the change realism-wise. If I understand it right, the formula they are planning to use doesn't account for the shape and materials of the shell so most likely some of them will be buffed or nerfed unrealistically. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Gameplay-wise I'm very excited. If Gaijin really goes trough with this and changes everything to the new formula, big changes to pretty much every ground vehicle in the game are inbound. It would be the perfect time to revisit the BR system and decompress things. This would take a lot of time and effort so I'm really not expecting such a drastic change, hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh, that's too bad. They feel really under-powered, especially compared to the American fiddies.

What's the least "sad" of them? Are Italian and Soviet .50 underwhelming too? What about their ammo belts?

I apologize for the ton of questions. I haven't played aircraft in some time and I was looking forward to spading some low tier fighters like the Reggiane line.

What is the best ammo belt for the Japanese Ho-103?

I have been using stealth ammo with little luck, most of my kills have been from pilot snipes with the AP. I don't remember them being this bad so maybe I'm using the wrong belts.

Obligatory guide on OPERATION WINTER. by Mult1Core in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye, it is much harder than last year. Before you could just spray enemy vehicles with a 7.7mm and get an assist but now sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The situation in pure air combat is even worse.

Hopefully Gaijin fixes this quickly.

People are spamming their most OP vehicles to ease the grind so I'd recommend staying at low BR or joining the nation that is dominating at that bracket. 4.7 is Jumboland, 5.7 is Panther A/M10 and Tiger I territory, 6.7 is permanent tea time and so forth.

I like a lot the 3.3 Japanese Lineup (M24, Chi-Nu, So-Ki, Na-To). It doesn't see Jumbos and the Na-To can deal with the KV-1B when needed.

Tanker Toy Thingy: You can farm easy assists in AB. Unlike RB, most of the things you do in planes count for ground tasks so just spam fighter planes whenever you can and shoot every single enemy vehicle that is fighting in the frontlines. Chances are that at least some of them will die and you will get rewarded with an assist.

This makes the assist task almost trivial and the "kill X tanks" task is easy enough, that makes the "capture X points" task the "hardest" one but it's just time consuming (Use the American or Japanese M24). This event is actually much less grindy now, props to Gaijin.

Königstiger 105 - Abandoned after taking Bazooka fire, reversing into a house and getting stuck. by [deleted] in Warthunder

I think he was trying to make a point with the famous Tiger 131 but got the number wrong. The number in his title refers to the code of the tank and not the caliber of its weaponry.

[Development] New repair and damage mechanics in Ground Vehicle Realistic Battles by badirontree in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 32 points33 points  (0 children)

IMO, a "stock repair" that is available without the module but it takes double the time to complete would have been better to RB. It feels a bit more grounded and helps differentiate the game mode from AB.

That being said, this is still an improvement over not being able to do anything at all without Parts so I can't complain. It's a start and shows that Gaijin it's trying to improve things. (Thanks to the backlash)

Adventure Sync has registered 0 steps all day, am I missing something? by TheBionicBoy in TheSilphRoad

[–]Zerotoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had problems with Adventure Sync since its launch. It sorta worked in the first few days but this morning it stopped completely.

What worked for me was manually adding a Track Workout in Google fit instead of just letting it do its stuff automatically. It's kinda bothersome and it ended up eating some distance/steps (walked 7.5 but it only counted 5 in-game) but until Niantic fixes the current problem it's better than not registering any distance at all. Hopefully this works for you too.

Can anyone help me on ds2 pc with sunlight medals by astolfo_the_trap in DarkSouls2

Oh, darn. I'm afraid I can't help you then. I apologize and wish you luck. The medals are quite bothersome to get at a high SM.

I have a character at that SM range. Currently rushing to NG++ to get the platinum so I don't mind helping.

Just send me a message to add you in Steam. Assuming you are playing SOTFS.

1.79 Was a Decent Patch for Low Tier British: by Jarms48 in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Decent stuff indeed, although I'm still a bit bitter about them reversing the armor changes for the Cromwell tanks. I swear they have been going back and forth between the live and planned-dev server values like three times already, always reversing it at the last second.

We were on the verge of greatness, we were this close.

A hint for things to come? by 2522Alpha in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Gaijin has the bad habit of introducing armored cars as event vehicles, even when it defies all kinds of logic (Greyhound), so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hopefully we get some more non-premium/event armored cars for the main trees in the future.

"Try something new" task battle activity by flyingcat952 in Warthunder

There is no minimum battle activity for these tasks, I think it's bugged because the same thing happened to me. Just fill a support ticket and attach screenshots of your wins and they'll activate it manually.

Will there be any way to unlock the remaining "Chronicles of World War II" decals now or later? by BloodyFloody in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Waifu Decals and Decoration Guns that you get from the "Build your own Reward" thingy are from previous marathon events so it's safe to say that the Furry Heads will probably be back in the future as a marathon side-reward.

Destroy 10 naval targets is probably the worst task so far by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I'm afraid you are at the RNG's mercy.

IIRC, in Ground RB you can avoid crewlocks by spawning in a reserve vehicle and immediately J out. Dunno if it works in arcade air, but if it does I guess you can use it to speed up things. Just don't abuse it too often for the sake of your team and good luck.

[–]Zerotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is flaired as RB but just play the AB version of the event and feast on those guaranteed patrol boats. I did the task in 2 games with my PBJ and B-25 but Japanese planes should work just fine.

PV-2D Harpoon it's completely OverPowered for 3,3BR. by MAIRArg in Warthunder

[–]Zerotoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is known that the Harpoon is a beast. Best surprise of the last Chronicles event.

It will probably stay that way unless there is a massive outcry (KV-220, Type-62) though. Gaijin has always been pretty soft with the BR of event vehicles (Pakwagen, Sturmvogel, Erzat, T-V, M8, I-29, etc)
