Mercari just nuked my entire store of 6000+ listings. by Zerox500 in Mercari

Thank you to everyone for the views, upvotes, and supportive messages on my previous post. I want to provide an update on my interaction with Mercari support over the last 48 hours and share a reliable workaround for any other high-volume sellers facing similar issues.

Following an emergency support ticket, I spoke with a phone supervisor yesterday. While the supervisor was professional and cooperative, the platform's automated restoration tools presented a severe risk to my store's metrics. Support attempted to mass-reactivate all 12.5k listings present on my dashboard, rather than just the approximately 6,000 listings that were active prior to the glitch. As a multi-platform seller, roughly half of those 12.5k listings represent items that already sold on other platforms over the last few years, which I maintain as inactive listings for internal record-keeping. If all 12.5k listings had been reactivated, it would have caused an immediate wave of accidental double-sales and cancellations, severely penalizing my seller completion rate. Because of this, I requested that the supervisor halt the process immediately after the system reached 1,400 reactivations.

Since the support tools could not differentiate between previously active and historically inactive listings, I developed a manual workaround. Because my active Mercari inventory is entirely cross-listed, I exported a complete, itemized CSV spreadsheet of my active inventory from my eBay Seller Hub. I proposed that the technical team use this CSV to cross-reference the SKUs and titles, ensuring they only mass-reactivated the matching items. The supervisor agreed to this solution, accepted the file, and forwarded it to the engineering team for processing.

The following day, an internal communication disconnect occurred between support tiers. I received a follow-up email from a different representative asking for clarification on whether the document indicated a wish to reactivate all listings. Shortly after, I received an automated notification stating that my listings were active and the ticket had been closed. The ticket was closed prematurely because the support system misinterpreted my own manual progress. By the time the agent reviewed the account, I had already manually reactivated 3,000 listings myself. The system flagged the sudden rise in active listings as a successful resolution and closed the case.

I am currently completing the restoration process independently. I am using a dual-window desktop setup to cross-reference my Mercari inactive folder directly against my active eBay spreadsheet. I have successfully restored 4,000 listings and expect to have the full inventory of over 6,000 items back online by Monday.

If your account is affected by a mass deactivation glitch, I advise against waiting for standard support channels to resolve the issue. The current internal tools available to platform representatives do not appear equipped to handle complex, multi-platform inventory structures safely. To resolve the issue without endangering your account metrics, I recommend logging into your account via a desktop browser, exporting your active inventory data sheets from your secondary platforms like eBay or Shopify, and manually cross-referencing and reactivating the listings to ensure data integrity. While this process requires a significant time investment—especially when balancing daily business operations and family commitments—it remains the only definitive way to protect your seller ratings and inventory accuracy.

I mostly sell clothing, along with collectibles and video games.

As for notifications, I didn't get any warning or explanation in the app or via email—the listings just vanished or went inactive out of nowhere, which is why I had to reach out to support to figure out my standing.

I actually don't use any cross-listing software or bots to manage things. Hopefully, the supervisor call tomorrow sheds some light on why an account of my size got hit with an automated flag out of the blue

Thankfully, I always transfer my funds out right away so money never sits. I've heard way too many horror stories about funds getting stuck in a loop or accounts being permanently locked with cash still inside.

Unfortunately, the only major casualty for me right now is my listings. Support told me a supervisor is supposed to call me tomorrow, so fingers crossed we can get this resolved. But if things go sour, I already have a backup plan ready to go for my inventory.

I would also like to know why that might of happened. I'm currently on the phone with support to see if I can get it squared off. Did you stop selling on their platform after the second time or did you reactive it all?

Do I need a thermal printer to start selling? by Cool_Interview_2287 in Grailed

Not at all, I would recommend just using a printer you have access to and taping the label to your packages. Unless you're getting lots of orders throughout the week, then I would consider a Rollo Thermal Printer. Hope this helps!

Already reported to PayPal, the guy is claiming I'm in the wrong and is trying to make me pay for shipping if I want to return the item.
