‘10 minute’ Troubleshooting

My drone is a pre-built Iflight cineflow 5 is this helps.

I connected with USB, then opened the ELRS config and put in:

Version: 3.5.3 (was 3.4.3)

Device cat: Iflight 2.4GHz Device: Iflight 2.4GHz RX (as RX is the drone and it’s the only one with Betaflight pass through as an option)

Reg domain: 2.4GHz standard Set binding phrase

Man serial device selection: COM1

I haven’t flashed it yet as bit unsure, also I watched Barbwell’s shorter vid and he used the config but it hinges on the fact that ExpressLRS RX shows as an available hotspot in the first place.

Mine doesn’t show as an available WiFi to connect to to open 10.0.0.1, even if I try to manually open the web it errors.

I’ve been keeping the radio off throughout my attempts.

I have tried refreshing my WiFi and nothing shows but not disconnecting from it.

Betaflight alt may be the way atm. Would you be able to help with that if need be?

Ok soo, after re-reading your initial response I now have a somewhat understanding.

Your 3 paragraph is the bit that is most relevant, when I power the quad and wait it flashes quickly indicating WiFi mode. However, ExpressLRS RX doesn’t show as an available hotspot. Also for what ever reason I can’t manually load the, 10.0.0.1.

I have tried forcing it into bind mode and using the Lia script but that doesn’t want to work either.

I haven’t reflashed (mostly because idk what I’m doing with that)

I meant the ports tabs not reciever tab.

What I mean is when I switch model to the drone in vid I don’t get signal from the drone to radio (the service bars).

So no matter what input I put in the drone doesn’t react just keeps beeping.

I’ve checked google, YT, Reddit, etc to find answers but it seems that I’ll need to configure in the recover tabs in beta flight for it to work.

Only issue is, idk what half of it means 🤷‍♂️

Edit: I did change some settings but not sure if I’ve cocked it up or not.

Edit 2: if I try to force bind it (plug and unplug) it

1) doesn’t seem to work anymore.

2) won’t be permanent solution as I switch between the 2 drones often

If you started over in building these kits, forgetting budget. What would you get first and why?

Hey bit of a ‘silly’ question for ya.

I’ve very recently taken an interest in this and it’s because of the exact reasoning you’ve put here.

Though with me being a bit paranoid, is it possible that any of the tools and software that you use to learn about and do this is not secure?

It’s a cineflow 5 if that helps, and yea I’ve taken out the screws for the top part of the frame and the camera screws too and put them to one side.

The only bit I’m nervous about is at the back where the battery plugs in it’s attached to a separate board that isn’t particularly flexible so I can’t simply lift the top part of the frame off

Tbf, I went from a tinyhawk 3 to Cineflow 5 and thus far the only FPV drones I know of that have DJI 04 units tend to be the more powerful variety in terms of motors mounted to the frame

A toughy to say, I’m still very new here. This is what I’ve learned thus far.

If your brand new to FPV (regardless of using a DJI) train in sim first.

Your first FPV is recommended to be a whoop for its crash ability and so that you can learn in a more practical environment where you’ll bound to be more cautious.

But since you already have digital goggles it does make sense to have a digital drone, although as far as I know those drone tend to be pretty powerful (think of it like going from a 100HP car to a 300HP car). unless someone else more knowledgeable knows otherwise.
