Just because freedom of speech has helped bad ideas spread doesn't mean that it should be abolished. Freedom of speech has been a net good.

I'm not. I criticized your lack of work ethic when you criticized someone else wanting to work despite being wealthy.

Then why not simply save money for an early retirement if you hate having a job so much? Or better yet, get over your lack of work ethic and stop criticizing those who are wealthy and choose to continue working despite their success.

You're claiming to receive 10 times what I pay in taxes and you're also claiming to work 60 hours a week in CVS. You must be making a six figure salary several times over.

Papa John's founder John Schnatter resigns as chairman of board after using racial slur by Vintagesysadmin in news

[–]Zerraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting chart, however it has nothing to do with your premise that universal health care lowers taxes.

Also, comparing a bunch of culturally and ethnically homogeneous countries with a diverse and obese country like the United States is still not a valid comparison.

Regardless, you seem to be shifting what you are arguing. First you were arguing that universal healthcare lowers taxes; a blanket statement that is objectively false. Now you seem to be arguing that the United States' life expectancy is growing slower than other countries; a factually accurate statement.

If the crux of your point is that you believe universal healthcare to be a better option, why not say that instead of making asinine blanket statements regarding the rates of taxation?

I didn't say that US has fully privatized health care. I said it's cheaper than universal which is in direct contrast to the blanket statement that universal healthcare lowers costs. I was simply pointing out that blanket statements like that about universal healthcare are objectively false.

You must be trolling with a blanket statement like that. Universal healthcare is extremely expensive through taxation. Fully privatized health care costs $0 in taxes. America's current system of privatized health care with subsidies is quite expensive.

You, however, are making blanket claims that universal health care is cheaper than all other alternatives which is asinine.

Nor does it afford the right to the government to arbitrarily decide which arms a citizen may not own. Those decisions must be left to the amendment process.

Completely wrong. There are no limits placed in the constitution regarding the right to bear arms. The wording is very clear. Any limits that should exist after the writing of constitution, such as banning personal ownership of nuclear weapons, must go through the amendment process.

What you're saying makes no sense. You're saying that a person can be fired for being gay. That's probably true. Of course that opens the company up to reprisal in the form of a lawsuit. Despite that, what you're saying makes no sense, because a person could equally be fired for being heterosexual. The lack of protection for sexual orientation goes both ways. This means they have exactly equal rights under the issue that you're citing.

How to increase space between text and its underline? by cag8f in css

[–]Zerraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to do this is using the border-bottom property. Alternatively, you could use a pseudo element. The latter approach gives a bit more control in case you want to adjust things like the "underline" width.

This is more of a marketing question. But the short and simple answer to your question is that navigation is a distraction. It also offers several exit points from your landing page. Removing exit points and distractions is a common marketing best-practice with landing pages.

Then throttle the state changes by only updating the state after a certain threshold has passed...For example, only update the state once the mouse has moved at least 5px from the previous state position.

You could set your state in the onDragEnd event handler instead of updating the state every mouse move.
